Q:
Blacklist for bad guild members?
Not that I know of but while this is a good idea everyone wanting to add someone should tread lightly. In most games, especially this one with repping/multi guilding, you’d need to be certain of blacklist worthy offenses. Having a giant list of mainly people who try a guild out and leave just as quickly will get the blacklist blacklisted. Who are we to say, especially if they don’t voice their reason, whether the member just wasn’t fitting in or was just trying to rob the guild for example. My guild will see one or two people leave a week and these players never participate or talk. I find it funny and sad that someone would look for an active guild yet not be active but it certainly isn’t ban worthy. If there is a list, or a desire to be one, there should be outlines as to acceptable offenses for adding someone to said list publicly available. That should include how you go about getting someone added.

Having a blacklist will just cause more problems than anything. You can’ judge a person later on after being blacklisted as the player may have changed attitude. If his/her name is still in the blacklist, do you think that would be good for that player then? You’re permanently labeling them with a negative title as other players see this list.
If the invited player doesn’t suit your guild, then simply remove them and move on. Just remember to not invite him anymore unless the issue has somehow been resolved. And if you have issues with botting, hacking or scamming, report them to ANet.
just because one person is bad in a guild, it doesnt mean he/she will be bad in the next guild. If you want this feature, maybe you should think about expanding the blacklist yo include bad guilds, bad commanders, etc.

I would hope that no such list exists. If someone truly deserves to be on it then they probably also deserve a /report — let A-Net handle the discipline.

The problem isn’t so much having a list of people who are undesirable, I can guarantee there are some people who are going to be toxic in any guild they ever go into; however no one could fully trust a blacklist unless it was very well done, and there is no way to do one well enough to do that.
For example, I remember people in my first guild that spread completely false stuff about the leaders, badmouthed people all the time, and stole from the guild bank; they aren’t going to magically change or be better in the next guild. However, I could just as easily have made all that up because he said I’m fat, and unless I put my name next to the blacklist entry, and have a reputation that lends itself to that, then no one cares.
Basically, the blacklist will either be so small it is nearly useless, as only highly respected and well known people could add, or it would have such little authority that no one would care, and therefore be useless.
yup would love to blacklist the guy that took EVERYTHING valuable out of our guildbank and all the gold and left guild after being with us for a while!

I agree with this opinion, a blacklist would not be integer to the person(s), because you would not know both sides of the story…

There have been a couple people we’ve had to kick that I would want to warn everyone about but on the other hand a blacklist would ruin a lot of people’s reputations when they wouldn’t deserve it so I’d rather not see this created.
