Well met, traveler.
The following pertains to the guild:
ENGIVATION [ENVA] on Tarnished Coast
First let me show you the best places to look into us:
There will be some extra information in the second post that did not make the cut for length in the first post, skim over to find what sections most pertain to your interests!
Play style
We are a casual guild of friends whose primary goal is to have fun – as it should be. There is an interest for every activity Guild Wars 2 has to offer within our ranks, PvE being the most common thread among our members. Don’t fret, there are avid PvPers and jumping puzzle enthusiasts (myself included) to be found, as well. There are no time commitments, or required attendance policies, but we do love to be clued in. If you’re going to be away on a trip for a month, let us know! Don’t just fall off the face of the earth. The thing with a guild like this is that we notice when someone goes missing, because we do care about each and every one of our players.
Guild Missions
Even though we have a smaller sized guild (currently sitting at ~30) we were able to pull together and achieve the required influence to purchase the necessary upgrades! We are just beginning to run guild missions, and already have enough influence to open up Guild Trek once Economy reaches the 6th tier.
We make every effort to let the entire guild know when these activities will be, we try very hard to foster the bonds of community that makes this guild so special. We do this by:
- Posting a GMotD to announce when we plan to start the event.
- Posting a message on our guild website about the events occurrence.
- Posting a mumble daily message as a third method of notification.
It is very important for a guild to do things with one another, and guild missions are the absolute best way to achieve this – since dungeons can only hold 5 people per run.
Voice Chat
We feel very strongly about voice chat – not necessarily meaning that you have to vocally participate. It is from experience that groups are able to perform more effectively when commands and ideas can be ushered vocally, leaving the keys to do your physical action-based bidding. While it may be true that a sword is – at times – able to speak more effectively than a person’s words, this is not true in the case of stopping mid-combat to type a strategy that is in need of instant application.
The above paragraph made it seem like we only use it as a tool, but truly, it is much more a facilitator of open communication. Talking is a more sincere form of speaking to one another, and some of the strongest bonds that I have forged come from the ridiculous late night talks of a sleep deprived group just having a wonderful time.
As I said, you are not required to speak, but it is required that you have mumble downloaded and accessible. When you are in a group of guildies, you must be on mumble so that those who wish to speak are able to do so without leaving you out of the loop.
Two Week Trial
We use a two week “trial” period to make sure new recruits mesh with the guild well. The two weeks is “loose” in that we have had a recruit join, play an entire night with the guild, fit in perfectly, and made a member within 12 hours of joining.
Being a recruit will basically last until the recruit either:
- Plainly fits in well
- Doesn’t enjoy the guilds company and we part ways cordially
We understand that some people are shy, so if you come into the guild and two weeks go by without us getting a real feel for who you are and how well you mesh, you will not be kicked! The trial will just continue on.
This, as you might have gathered, is just a measure to ensure guild harmony – hold the drama at bay. This is not in any way shape or form a “test” to be passed, and we hope no recruit ever views it as such a suppressing venture.

Seriously, just give us a try if you’re looking for a small-ish guild that cares about each and every member. We have people who are into dungeons, WvWvW/PvP, alt-leveling, JPs, achievement hunting, etcetera in varying degrees of casual-ness. We only have about 35 members right now, but what we lack in quantity, we more than make up in quality (just check out the screenshots on our website linked above!).
