NOTICE: Post under construction
Introduction
Alright Recruit, let me give you a run down on how things are done in the MR. You will be part of a small task force with the objective of sabotage, raids, and reinforcing our front lines when needed. This objective will evolve as we get more FNGs, but for now, thinking small will do.
In case you have not noticed, I’m talking about World Versus World. Our operating hours are 10am-4pm and 9pm-12am Eastern US time on week days. Weekends tend become unpredictable, but there is a high chance someone will be active then. Our base of operations is located in Eredon Terrace. If you cannot participate during any of these hours, don’t bother signing up.
A minimal once a week you’ll be active. If you are MIA for a week you will be notified of potential discharge and given another two weeks to reply. Failure to comply to the message sent will result in a less-than-honorable discharge. Should something come up or if life pulls a fast one on you, let our Guild Master know to avoid this.
As far as discipline is concerned we would be best describe as somewhere in the middle. We’re not going to go drill sergeant on you so long as you follow our rules and take the required basic training. Advanced training can give you more know-how and is not mandatory. However, we still have some kinks to work out. We’ll notify you as soon as advance training becomes available.
Although I did mention we’re primarily a WvW group, we do more than WvW. We may do dungeons, Craft items for one another, and more. Think of PvE as shore leave.
Initiation
All accepted players will start off as a Recruit. At this rank you are not officially part of the guild yet. After you’ve passed Boot Camp you will be promoted to Private.
In Boot Camp a Drill Sergeant will instruct you. You will have at least one player with you. They may also be a recruit, or they may be an experienced member filling up empty slots.
Here are some tips for Boot Camp.
1) Once your submission is accepted you will be notified. Once you are online at the same time your assigned Drill Sergeant is, you will start Boot Camp. Avoiding Boot Camp will result in termination of your submission. You can apply again, but you only get two more chances. Plus, your Drill Sergeant WILL get on you for that. should you have to log off, be sure to notify your Drill Sergeant. You can continue Boot Camp next time you are both on.
2) Boot Camp may seem harsh, but that doesn’t mean our Guild is hardcore. We don’t play to win, we play to have fun in a video game. It’s just that this kind of fun is military-like. Doesn’t mean we don’t goof off every so often or do fun events other than WvW. Think of anything not in WvW as shore leave.
3) Just because you may be level 80 with the best gear in the game doesn’t mean we’ll go soft on you. Boot Camp is used to weed out those who will hinder us in the long run. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done. Everyone is treated equally as far as qualification is concerned. The same may not be true for your Drill Sergeant treats you however…
4) EVERYTHING you learn in boot camp will be used on the field. Don’t just go through thinking you can forget it later on. You may get called out on it and reviewed by your superiors. Even worse, you may have to go through Boot Camp all over again.
5) There’s only one rule to pass Boot Camp. Do as your Drill Sergeant says. Failure to comply will disqualify you.
Boot Camp Courses:
Obedience Training
All you have to do is what your Drill Sergeant says. Your Drill Sergeant will go over how your Training will be done and probably make you do ridiculous things. Just do as Sarge says.
Formation Training
Here, you will be accompanied with other players. They may be recruits like you, or already experienced members called in to fill spots. You will be taught different movement formations and their effectiveness on the field. You and your group will follow the Drill Sergeant around a certain area in whatever formation he/she calls out. Keep in formation and you will pass. (Due to the Guild just starting up, I may need to gather players outside the Guild to participate. If we cannot obtain enough players to complete this training you will skip it and come back to it later.)
Scouting
This is the first course where you will actually enter WvW. However, you are not here for combat. You will be tasked to go to an enemy base, spot enemies, upgrades, and any siege weapons that you can see. You must also get back to your Drill Sergeant ALIVE! You may NOT use any waypoints. If you die, you will be assigned a different target. Once you return, you will travel with your Drill Sergeant to the target location to confirm your findings.
