Guild Wars 2

I played GW1 ever since it was new. I was even a guild leader for a good four or five years (and technically still am, but the guild is dead).

It took me a LONG time to get over how different GW2 is compared to it’s predecessor, as well as how absolutely atrocious the early BETA events were, but I recently gave the game another try from a fresh perspective, and it’s actually not so bad…

EXCEPT, the social side of this “MMO” is a total joke disaster! I’ve yet to see a single conversation in public chat. I’ve yet to even see one in either of the two guilds I’ve joined! I’ve come across maybe a grand total of 30 other players in the 2-3 weeks or so I’ve been playing, and not once have any of them responded to a message or accepted/sent a team invite. WTH is up with that?

Anyway, I’m really trying to like this game, but so far it’s just a fancy online single-player RPG. I’m literally begging for someone to play with me and justify my time spent in this game, because if it’s gonna be a single player RPG, I’d be better off going back to The Witcher/Skyrim/Fallout.

So with that said, are there any guilds, or even single players, who can rescue a NEW PLAYER from this anti-social isolated monotony? I play EXCLUSIVELY on Fort Aspenwood – I’d be willing to guest into other NA servers, but if you are in another region, don’t bother, I can’t join you :/

I run a very small 8 man guild over on Dragonbrand called Strikeforce [Hero], Drifter. We have our own mumble server but only 3-4 of us play at least on a bi-daily basis. I find myself in a similar situation as you, looking for some active people to game with. Not sure if the way to go would be to start recruiting some fresh faces or pass off ownership and look for a new active home. I’d be more than happy to group up, livechat, or run missions with you any time. I reside in Texas and work mostly from home, so I’m on quite a bit throughout most days and nights.

It might just be the server your on. I dont know much about Fort Aspenwood but i do know that there are lots of conversations happening and ive had more than a few good ones with random passer bys when im out exploring on Yak’s Bend.

I know it can be very expensive but you might want to take a look at options (for guilds) outside of your own server and if you think you could really get along with them put in the gold/cash to transfer to thier server to join them. Having a good guild with people your proud to call friends can make all the difference in the world. Cuz your right, if not for my family i would not enjoy playing this game at all.

We’re PvX and on Fort Aspenwood. We are a huge multigame community. We have a major presence in PS2, WoW, LoL, STO, War Z. We even have a community Minecraft server! We are a friendly, organized group that demands nothing more from you than a sense of humor and access to Mumble (where most of our conversations happen.) We are pretty strict about 18+ for applicants. Real life comes first, most of our members are professionals or attend university, and many have kids.

We very balanced in our approach to the game. We have extremely active and skilled dungeon runners as well as active farmers. So if you want help getting those last few Lodestones for your legendary, or having a group of friends willing to get you to that next level of Fractals, this is the guild for you. Our only goal is have an awesome time together in Tyria.

We are starting to get somewhat active in sPvP (and by “we” I mean me and the other PvP officer and whoever else I can con into helping us.)

When I’m not terribly distracted by tPvP, leveling alts, or doing 8 Bit Madness, I lead nightly havok squads in WvW, and host a guild-wide WvW event on Wednesday night.

We also are up top of the ball as far as Guild Missions go. We have been tearing up Bounties and Treks for a couple weeks and will have Rush unlocked in a few days.

Jaded[Jade] is a fairly well established PvX guild on Darkhaven recruiting active, friendly, and mature members!
