Gehenna is a PvX guild on the Ehmry Bay server. We have approximately 90 members, and are looking specifically to grow our WvW segment. A little background.
Ehrmy Bay is a low-ranked WvW server, and as a result of several recent, severe losses, many players have moved on looking for greener pastures. This has also recently affected our guild directly, as several of our members who were personally focused on WvW decided to leave; they were unhappy that often WvW maps would have no queue, and that capture points would seem to fall as soon as we could capture them. There was some discussion about changing servers as a guild, and when we decided that we were not going to pick up and move, they decided to leave.
We wish them all the best, but now we are looking to recruit and get our WvW numbers back up to snuff! What we are looking for in a player:
1) Patient, willing to stick with a guild that’s dedicated to having a strong WvW presence as it works toward that goal. We were a very strong force in WvW for a while, but when the chips were down for our server a lot of people lost interest, so we are admittedly not as strong now in this department as we would like to be. That’s why this recruitment message is being posted, at all!
2) Good sports. Serious competitors, we hope, but not so focused on winning that they lose morale when our server is behind, or try to leave servers just because we are on a losing streak. Wants to win, but still has fun when losing.
3) Ambitious. You should be more interested in fighting for a server that often loses, with the goal of making that server stronger, instead of wanting to join a server that wins all the time (where your individual contribution hardly matters!).
4) Friendly. This one is obvious. We’re a PvX guild, so we have members of all stripes, and applicants should be able to get along with everyone!
5) A serious gamer. We’re a home for casual and hardcore players, alike, but players with a more serious streak will feel more comfortable. When we’re working on something in-game, we like to get the job done.
6) An active guild member. We have a website, a 50-person Vent server, and an active player base. New members should plan to make use of all of those resources: should plan to actively check the forum and post their own thoughts, should make use of Vent to get to know everyone and facilitate smooth communication, and should try to do things with guildies whenever possible.
Of course, we are recruiting players of all other types, as well! Although we specifically want to bolster our WvW presence, spvp and pve players are welcome to apply.
