I’m interested, I’ll pm you for some more information on myself.
Ok, I have to wait 2 days before I can send a message, so here I go:
Hi,
So my name is NoWay (I’m sure that when I’m in the guild for a while that name might get more ‘familiar’ as you know what I’m saying), I’m 19 years old, go to law school and I love Style Dancing and Gaming. (yes bot with capitals as they’re very ‘important’ to me)
I won’t bore you with my résumé of games, but I’m playing since I could sit on a chair (literally). Last 5-6 years I’ve been playing more MMORPG/Browser games and I might say I’m rather good at it. So it also goes in GW2. But there’s no point in loving the game and being rather good at it if you can’t do the dungeons, tournaments, etc because your original guild of gaming friends abandoned the game.
So now I’m looking for a new guild which offers a big variety of things to do (going from dungeons to pvp tournaments to closed pvp matches between guildmembers to big scale WvW with an own castle, I believe that was going to be possible right?)
What I’m also looking for in a guild is a friendly and fun environment. I won’t lie to you, some times I just got no time to come online, I’m sorry but that’s just it. Positive though is that I have a rather free schedule during the days. I need only 5 hours on morning-noon to go to college and get back home. In that time period there’s a small frame I can quickly log on for 30-40 minutes if needed.
So I want to see my time well-used ingame. I’ve been with the game since the beginning (without beta), after waiting an entire summer. I had only 2 weeks left to get to L80 before school began, so I said to myself, I gonna do it. And I did it, with nothing else then main quest, misc quests and mob killing I made it to L80 in 2 weeks.
This makes for a perfect time to discuss my characters and play-style. The L80 is my ranger (I know some people think they are weak and you should play warrior or thief because those are OP’d) but I love my ranger and I killed everybody who faced me in PvP more than they killed me (including the times I was jumped, after which I picked them off 1 by 1). But my builds aren’t for going solo, which is what I have to do in PvP/WvW atm due to the lack of a guild.
Besides that ranger I got a L20 guardian (critter with high survivability) an elementalist, thief and warrior (all L1-5) lined up to get some playtime once I find myself a build I like.
So clearly it’s all about that ranger character. Maybe you heard of her, but I don’t think so, since I’m currently residing on Vabbi, but I’m willing to change server for a good guild.
So the ranger, I got all exotic gear, all runed. I’m still leveling my crafting and I will work towards legendary. But I’ve never been good at making money (maybe you guys can give me a few hints later on). Crafts are huntsman and leatherworker (all for the ranger), I’m willing to provide those services to the guild.
So that was the gear part, I’m rather proud about my gear since I got it all by myself and it was hard work back in the days (I haven’t played for a couple months to do busy RL, but I’m willing to get back to it).
About my build, I have 2 ranger builds. One I use in PvE, dungeons and WvW (and is usable in PvP too but requires a team that knows what it’s doing to be effective), the second I use in PvP.
My first build is conditional with very high survivability. I might have sacrificed a bit of damage, but I can keep myself alive in nearly any situation (I’ve tried myself on some golden bosses yesterday, solo’ing them and I did take them all down without getting downed once.). Combo: shortbow with axe and dagger
Second build, PvP build: some will call it glasscanon, I like to call it otherwise. Indeed I don’t have a lot of survivability skills besides my player skills. But I’m working on that, it’s a build I made yesterday because I noticed that in pvp getting the bleed from my SB from flanking a player is hard, meaning I had to be somewhere else than my team, meaning my AoE survivability skills had no use. So now I made my PvP build a critter, longbow with sword and horn and a lot of quickness. I rolled him yesterday without the use of my 7-0 skills and it was pretty solid. So now it’s all about getting even better and throwing in some survivability skills.
I’m also willing to do the teamspeak thingy, no problem with that. (I noticed in the past that some people do)
I guess I said most of it, hopefully I get a reply and we can work this out.
Just one final question for you guys: what are the goals of your guild? (amount of members, goals regarding PvP and WvW, dungeon running plans, … the big picture)
Thank you for you time and have fun playing,
NoWay aka Ràven Crow
PS: sorry for the wall-o-text
Thanks for your reply NoWay, your ranger build sounds pretty cool. I have a lvl 68 ranger myself and I can’t seem to find a build I like so if you were to join, I may hit you up for some advice on that
Anyway, to answer some of the questions you asked at the end, I would say our goal is to have fun first and foremost. Second, we don’t really do much PvP, aside from sometimes doing closed 1v1’s against eachother for practice on rare occasions.
We’re more focused on WvW. We aren’t a huge guild by any means (just over 20 members, to answer that question), in fact at the moment we usually just run in a group of 5-7 guys in WvW, but we’re all pretty well experienced and have a diverse setup usually (i.e. we’ll roll with a warrior, a mesmer, a thief, a guardian, etc), that way we can compliment eachother in fights which allows our small group to take on larger groups of 10-15 ppl, which is what we love to do.
Our server has a lot of huge WvW guilds, so our role in the fight is acting as more of a diversion (like capping surround camps while the main zerg hits a keep), or a support role, but we’re not afraid to lead the charge as well
As for dungeons, we mainly do them out of need for things, such as spamming CoF path 1 runs when we’re short on cash, running other dungeons that have armor/weps we like, etc. We’ve been running Fractals lately as well trying to get ascended trinkets and such, but we’re always open to run any dungeon so if you have a favorite run you like to do, we’d be more than happy to run it
The core group of us are really good friends so you need not fear the stability of the guild. Even if the newer members were all to leave randomly, the core group of us would still be standing. We’re looking to add more to that “core” group of members that we can always count on to be loyal, so if that sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, we’d love to have you
