Quick questions.

1. Can a guild leader still be in other guilds and still represent them occasionally?
2. Would it even be a worthwhile venture, points-wise and such, to attempt keeping a guild of a handful of people, or even a single person?
3. Related to above, even if your guild were only specifically focusing on ONE aspect of the game? (WvW, sPvP, etc)

I will explain if it is deemed necessary. For now however I’d rather not have to get into drawn out discussion when the following above points will likely make or break the matter at hand themselves.

Quick answers:
1.) Yes.
2.) Depends on what you want from a guild. If you’re looking for something very close-knit with only a select few, then yes. The influence gain will be much slower than a larger guild, but it’ll make it worth that much more when you do get enough for unlocks.
3.)Same as answer #2. Having a very close-knit team for running around WvsW or sPvP can be an advantage over the ones that have just been thrown together.

For gaining influence the main thing is doing things while teamed up with others in your guild. If a solo player completes an event they earn 2 influence. If a team of 2 guild members completes an event they earn 20 influence. Players earn 10 influence points for completing a dungeon, but if there are 3 members from the same guild on the team they earn 100 influence. So, if you have a team of even 2 players running through PvE doing events or through WvW, killing yaks, killing guards, helping the zerg where needed, then the influence for that very tiny guild will add up faster than a medium sized guild where everyone does everything solo.

It’s one of the reasons that recruiting married couples or domestic partners is so appealing to guilds — the teaming up is built in. Of course, the best for influence gain is having a guild of people that actually enjoys playing together and teams together to do most things.

Thanks folks. The Yumiko Foundation for Mists Defense [YUMI] is up and running. A WvW specific guild in which I will be pouring my vast ingame material wealth and aiding with the building of boons for the defense of my server. Thank you for you cooperation. =)

Side note, I earned roughly 98 influence points alone in about six hours time. At this rate, it will be efficient for my needs, even if I do have to run the place myself. Though I do plan to recruit.
