Guillotine Therapy [Stab] is a guild located on the NA server Isle of Janthir. We are a WvW focused guild, relying more on small scale tactics and skirmishes rather than meshing with the blob. We are calculated in everything we do, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun in our own way, and we don’t want to turn this into a second job – but winning is what we are are about.
We are a small guild, keeping our numbers low so that we are more efficient at working together. In this guild you are more than just a number to help gain IP and zerg the castle, you are here to work as a team; taking objectives and killing enemy groups, often times outnumbered. With this playstyle you must have patience; sometimes it’s good to rush, but most of the time we will be waiting on our enemies to mess up – without patience you will become bored of what we do and that is no fun for anyone. If you would rather be with the zerg blob in WvW or not with us doing hit-n-runs on enemy objectives, or if you don’t like the playstyle of kiting your enemies, we do not want you. This does not mean we will never join up with the server main forces; there is always a time to help push objectives with the larger group, it just means that we do our own thing majority of the time.
Recruitment
Below are some guidelines to be aware of:
- We use ventrilo. This means that you must have a mic and ventrilo installed, and be willing to get on vent without being asked every time you go into WvW. We don’t want someone that has a mic but refuses to communicate on vent.
- We are a mature guild. Mature is a relative term, you can be 15 years of age and act like an adult, or be 25 years of age and act like a spoiled child; we want the former.
- Attitude. We play this game with an open mind. Learn from everything you do and what anyone else has to offer. You will never progress if you fall into pattern and refuse to learn new things. Losing is a part of this, no one is perfect and losing proves this. If you get demoralized and put into a fit of rage if you start losing, you aren’t learning, plus it’s annoying to play on the same team with someone who is raging. Look at why you are losing and adapt for later on.
- Activity. Our members understand that this is a game, but that it can still be played in a serious attitude. If you’re going to explode in a fit of rage every. single. time. you. die. we don’t want you. But that doesn’t mean we want someone that can only be online once every 3 days and can only play for 2 hours.
- Classes. We currently don’t have any restrictions on classes, but remember that we are a skirmish guild that employs hit-n-run tactics, this means it would be better to have a more mobile class that has both ranged and melee attacks so that you have more gtfo options. We may ask you to change your build to better suit our needs according to the situation, so please have an open mind.
- Player skill. Since the game is new, we’re only being semi-picky on who we let in. We don’t want to hold your hand every night, but we don’t want a know-it-all that never accepts advice/critiscism either. On that note, you must be willing to learn and adapt to our playstyle, no matter your pvp experience in this or any other game.
- Representing. Our guild is a main WvW guild. This means when you go into WvW, you represent us. Outside of WvW it doesn’t matter. We don’t PvE, or rather, group up for PvE in this guild. That doesn’t mean you aren’t allowed, just don’t expect to be running dungeons every night. If you would like to do that, we have an alt guild for PvE, or if you have a pve guild that’s fine, just know that we go into WvW every night.
