My fellow Guild Wars 2 Players.

I am currently looking for an English speaking guild on an EU server. I enjoy playing MMO’s since the early days of WoW, so I would consider myself if not experienced, then at least a fast learner. I am German, 34 years old and no hardcore player (and I do not intend do become one by joining a guild ?). In fact, I play very casual – mostly during the evening on week days, almost never on the weekends. Sometimes I do not play for weeks.

My main character is a Thief level 45. Although I would say that I suffer from a medium case of „altitis“, since I have alts covering most classes up to level 20. And this pretty much defines my playstyle, I am curious about all the mechanics, styles and just can’t live without VARIETY (? I find the Thief most satisfying so far, followed by the Guardian and the Ranger, ah well, call me crazy). This means I rarely get hooked on one particular class, role or playstyle. Therefore, I am looking for a PV“X“ guild, with an emphasis on PVE, though.

I really like the roleplaying aspect of MMOs, something that I find somewhat amiss in GW2, but that is also why I am looking for a guild. All my Charakters are somewhat uniqe, and I would really love the idea of finding a community of people who share some joy in jumping into different roles and characters.

This is why a pretty much don’t like running dungeons with random groups of people. I regard this as a necessity, not fun or even “an adventure”. And I flat out detest the so called speed runs which have become so common, where people hardly converse more then “HI”, kick you because “You are not max. lvl” or vent their senseless anger when things do not work out as speedy as expected.

To put it bluntly in one sentence: I would like to put some more „social soul“ into my game. While the GW2 mechanics are incredibly “social & it is easy to interact”, I do feel incredibly alone in flash mob of let’s say, “200 players killing a dragon”, and dispersing right afterwards into nirvana. But that is almost a topic for a separate thread.

What I would like in a guild:

1. An adult community ? no compromise here, I stated my age above…
2. PVX, but if I had to choose, I would chose PVE.
3. Role play to some extent – I like it when people have some idea about what their character is all about and show it more often than usual.
4. The proactive community with the friendly „Hey there is this really cool event I have discovered – want to join?“-attitude and a good sense of humor
5. English language in order to improve my own English.

What I am clearly not looking for:
1. Speed Runs.
2. Pressure regarding pretty much anything. When you are online, you are online.
3. Impolite players.
4. Disrespect.

I am fine with server changes (currently I am playing on Ring of Fire), as long as it is a EU server.

Happy New Year!

I have read your post and wanted to reply and offer you a spot in our small cozy laid back guild, if you dont mind to change servers.
We have members from Europe, the US, and other parts of the world.

We have 97 members atm, and we are steadily growing, but we
still maintain to keep the family feeling.

We have a mature member base, I would not mind taking a few
younger members, as long as it wont be the majority of our roster.

Although we are small, we have a very active group of people
now, we play every day and mostly play together in party.

We have weekly organized WvW/PvP, Dungeon & FotM runs, and even Music Night, and our members do all those activities together with other guild members every day as well.

We use RaidCall to talk, and a lot of us are on there on a daily basis as well.

if you don’t mind changing server then you may be interested in joining Darkveil on Gandara.
We are European with players from UK and the continent. We all have jobs etc so aren’t hardcore, but we do like to have some fun together.
We are building our close knit community and looking for mature players (over 20) to join us for dungeons and some WvW. We have just started a few weeks run to enable all members toclear every dungeon which you may like to join. There is also a group starting that wishes to do regular pvp & Tpvp.

Hi there Tom,

It sounds as if you might fit-in with us, The Misguided Misfits [LoL] We are a causal, no-pressure guild on the Piken Square EU server. Currently, we have a growing membership of about 21 players.

Personally speaking, like yourself, I too love alts and have five, plus my main (so far!) Ele, Mesmer, Guardian, Thief, Ranger and Necro…. in no particular order. Variety is good and I like to switch around, so in consequence, they are all different levels, from 30-something to 80.

We’re mainly a PvE guild, but some of us are now dipping our toes into other areas of the game, such as sPvP, WvW and an odd dungeon here and there. We are not “into” speed runs though, and are certainly not a hard-core guild.

Hi Tom,

Whilst our guild does little to no rp (i personally don’t
play in character but do have clear ideas of their looks & styles & a couple of them do also have history from previous mmo’s & one has even been rp-married in two previous mmos!), the rest of what you are looking for does sound like our guild.

ASq are a fun, friendly, relaxed & mature guild on the Gandara server. We are an English speaking guild, mostly European based at the moment with a couple of members in the EST time zone but would like to recruit members in all time-zones to support all players at all times.

We are currently a small player base especially following the unfortunate natural drop of initial players growing bored quickly of GW2 & becoming inactive but those of us that remain play regularly & we are looking for active & regular players to help our guild grow & progress in all areas of the game. We also welcome casual players & solo players that are looking for a relaxed place to chat & group as & when they feel for it. We fully appreciate & understand that life always comes first & this is just a game to have fun in & so anyone that has reached member rank or higher do not lose their guild status even if inactive for any period of time & this is something I would only be forced to consider if/when we ever reached the maximum cap of 500 members.

We organise regular dungeon/fractal runs (currently schedule 4 a week numbers permitting & further ad-hoc runs often occur through the week with a mix of guild/PuG as necessary at the moment) & monthly WvW runs (these will no doubt increase as the players require) & help each other as much as we can whenever & wherever needed.

We are happy for our members to multi-guild & also if they prefer, to primarily be based on another EU server & join up with us on dungeon runs (I believe we can also group on fractals if in an overflow).
