Hey, all. I’m a max level Norn Warrrior who is currently part of a guild on Yak’s Bend. I’d like to join a primarily PvE guild with the following characteristics:

1) Chance at officership. I’ve been a GM to a couple large, long-lasting guilds across a couple MMOs, but have found the task of building one without IRL friends on GW2 to be difficult amidst so many established guilds – this is nothing new, of course. I’d like to join an established guild with a leadership opening who could use my experience in the immediate term.

2) Good, active people. Being social in GW2 is not only enjoyable but necessary for success. I’d love a guild with Vent/TS and maybe even a website. Size isn’t so much an issue as activity level. If your guild has 450 members but only 15 online at a time, the fit won’t be there. Additionally, if members frequently punctuate their talk with off-color jokes and swearing, I probably won’t enjoy my time with that guild as much.

3) A defined structure and set of expectations. A guild should have a clear path to advancement, a system of awards, an atmosphere of opening sharing, and a leadership team of servants rather than tyrants. This is always the most difficult to find and is why I usually start my own guilds, but if there is a guild out there that already owns this philosophy, please contact me!

We are a growing guild & at teh moment only have a couple of players in the EST time zone but I would like to expand our player base over more timezones to help all of our players so if you are interested in helping the guild to grow, I do think we might be a good fit for what you are looking for.

About us:
ASq are a fun, friendly, relaxed & mature guild on the Gandara server. We are an English speaking guild, mostly European based with a couple of members in the EST time zone.

We are currently a small but growing player base especially following the unfortunate natural drop of initial players growing bored quickly of GW2 & becoming inactive but those of us that remain play every-day we are looking for active & regular players to help our guild grow & progress in all areas of the game. We also welcome casual players & solo players that are looking for a relaxed place to chat & group as & when they feel for it. We fully appreciate & understand that life always comes first & this is just a game to have fun in & so anyone that has reached member rank or higher do not lose their guild status even if inactive for any period of time & this is something I would only be forced to consider if/when we ever reached the maximum cap of 500 members.

We organise regular dungeon/fractal runs & monthly WvW runs (these will no doubt increase as the players require) & help each other as much as we can whenever & wherever needed. To cover your points:
1) Chance at officership: At the moment I have minimal officers in ratio to the active players but as the guild progresses there will become openings for officer positions for those that want to take that spot & show good fit & support in the guilds progress.
2) Good, active people: As mentioned above we use mumble for those that wish to & we like to have a laugh as much as a great time running the dungeons etc. together.
3) A defined structure and set of expectations: Our website has clear guidelines for our guild but whilst we are a small guild our one clear advancement request is that an initiate signs up to our website to be eligible for promotion to member. A member gets promoted to senior member by being an active (not necessarily on everyday though) participant in the guild. Any decision & discussion is currently posted on website and/or by in game mail (yes, I painfully mail every member & wait the 60 seconds before i can mail the next one!) & I always put my guild members before myself (am only just working on map completion on one of my chars whilst most of my fellow L80 guildies have achieved it on at least 1 character!)

Hey! Reading your post makes me confident that you would be a great fit for our guild. I’ll address your bullets as corresponding bullets!

1) Leadership – Tonic (our guild) always respects people with leadership ability. We choose our officers by ability not by popularity or nepotism. Currently, we have an opening for PvE coordinator that I would like to fill in the near future. (We are a PvX guild and have officers for every major field of GW2—WvW, tPvP, & PvE).

2) Active and Social – We are a guild of under 100 people. Some of our players have followed us from other MMOs. We are social in game, on facebook, through Steam, Skype—you name it. Things are a bit chaotic because of the holidays but we still manage 15-20 on at peak hours. We’re also small enough that we like to get to know every one in our guild. We are a community and that’s our main focus. We call eachother Limes, we dye our gear lime green, and we geek over everything lime related.

3) Structure and Sharing – At Tonic, we have found ourselves lucky enough to not need to spell things out for everyone. Sharing, helping, and consideration seems innate. My officers know what they have to do and are not just puppets—they are free to make their own decisions in their area because they know what they’re doing. As the GM, I try to bend over backwards for the guild… always trying to be available and reachable in case anything goes wrong or is needed. Our member rank is 3 tiers—recruit, member, and then profound member. Member status is granted based on participation and to be promoted to the highest member rank, that member needs to stand out (helpfulness, contribution, etc.). There is no guild tax, no weird fees, just people working together.

We invite you to visit our guild and talk with us either in game or on vent. What would it hurt? Our minimum age requirement is starting at 18, most of the guild is 20s, 30s and older. We are all working class people and/or university students and/or have families to take care of. We are mainly North American times zones from one end to the other, but have a few Canadains, Euros from England, Finland and other areas that came with us from Guild Wars(so International guild). We log on to have fun and relax, so I am guessing you would consider us a casual guild. We have people may do one or a mixture of all; Pve, Pvp, dungeons, and Wvw. We will help and guide new players to the game and old players with what we can. We dont ask for special equipment for pvp, pve, and dungeons or build. We work with what you can bring. We don’t want to make the game a job, because that not what games are for. We are slowly rebuilding the guild at this time. We are looking for people, willing to help us grow. We are friendly and will do what we can or when we can for others in the guild. We enjoy new people, thoughts and ideas. Each new person brings a special gift or unique quality to add to the guild. We are now at 112 members and officers in the guild and growing more and more each day. We are upgrading to Level 5 upgrades.

Hello there Protus!

It seems like you’re getting quite a lot of attention! Well, here’s my piece as well. My guild is based in Crystal Desert and is still fairly small (in the 20s for active players) and trying to grow. We’re fairly laid back and are most active evenings EST and weekend. Hi Buddy,

The Unnamed is a semi-hardcore European Guild looking to recruit for PvP players. Since beta when being on Desolation, we have moved to Gunnars Hold and then to Blacktide before coming back to Desolation which we believe to be the most consistent server for players interested in both forms of PvP. Our recent move here is focussed on recruiting a WvW force large enough to take on the other zergs and blobbing kittens of tier 1, as well as consolidating and building upon our three active SPvP teams by basing ourselves at the centre of European SPvP in the Desolation mists.

Back on GH and BT we roamed WvW in force and did our part in contributing to the WvW effort. We decided to move over to Desolation because the WvW community didn’t feel strong enough for us on BT, and although we had an unbeatable server it was at the sacrifice of the good fights that we are now back to return to our old BETA stomping ground.

As it stands we WvW as a guild on a Tuesday and Thursday night, and although there is a solid WvW presence most nights, Monday and Wednesday are our usual SPvP focussed nights. There are of course members who SPvP or WvW 24/7 and this just improves our community.

If you want to be a part of a guild and community of players who care about PvP and work well as a team while having a good laugh along the way, then The Unnamed will suit you just fine. We are semi-hardcore and we take our PvP seriously, though we also like to have fun with it as well, so we can also be laid back and a great laugh too. We also stick by a rule that real life always comes before in-game, having learned that this is the best way to keep members happy over the fives years we have been playing games together.

- When in PvP you must be present on Mumble
- You must always represent The Unnamed when in WvW or SPvP
- If online, you are required to join our compulsory Tuesday night WvW (RL commitments will be excused)
