Guild Wars 2

Refuge is a friendly, mature guild that focuses on building a strong community. We are seeking members who like helping other people, who enjoy teamwork, and are respectful to others.

This guild was started with the idea of bringing the GW2 community together. Like most people, I’ve had many bad experiences with games online dealing with trolling, harassment, immaturity, and mean behavior. ArenaNet has made a community focused game that nurtures good behavior, but I feel it’s up to us, the players, to set good examples, lend a helping hand, and make the community how we want it to be. Refuge is meant to be a place for like minded gamers to get together, plan events, and help the community.

PvE is our main draw to the game, but PvP/WvW will not be ignored. Tarnished Coast is an unofficial RP server, and even though we are not an RP guild, you must be respectful to those who do RP in order to be a member of Refuge. And last but not least, we will be hosting events on a monthly basis for the whole community such as jumping challenge races and more.

Our guild has an emblem and is currently working on tier 3 Economy for experience bonuses. We have a vent server that isn’t required, but is a great way to get to know members.

My Wife and I play currently on Maguuma – though I think world transfers are still free at the moment and moving would be no big loss for us.

I was curious, if you have time, could you describe a bit more about the make-up of your guild? Such as: typical ages and play-times of most folks, what type of players mostly make up the guild, etc.?

As for us – we’re looking for an adult oriented guild. Not out of distaste of younger players, but more just so than the conversations and friendly chat/banter are in line with ourselves, if that dribble makes sense…

I’d be glad to answer your questions. Currently we have about 15 active members. A good portion of that are people I know IRL, or have met in other games. I believe most, if not all of us are on the west coast, so the usual PST prime time hours are when you tend to see people online.

Most of us are in our late 20s or early 30s have jobs, family, college etc.. so responsible people. Sometimes we rag on each other and joke around, but I will make sure no one crosses the line into racists/sexist or otherwise prejudice remarks, joking or otherwise.

I can give you an invite to the guild even though you’re on another realm. I don’t think your progress will gain influence (it’s like guild exp), but it’ll give you a chance to consider our guild.

Sounds like a solid fit – how do I go about reaching you? I’ll admit – I had no idea about the cross-realm guild invites – sounds pretty useful for this exact purpose.

Refuge is hosting a race to the finish for the Loreclaw Expanse Jumping puzzle located in the south east corner of The Plains of Ashford. Prizes will be given to the first 3 to complete it. You must be on the Tarnished Coast realm (not overflow) and be there no later than 6pm PST.

Come out to and have fun and if you like this sort of thing, you’re welcome to join our guild as we will have events like this on a regular basis.
