Guild Wars 2

Hi guys/gals!
My group partner and I started GW2 last week and would like to join a mature, but not super serious, guild and hopefully participate in events or just learn more about the game as we go along.

We are currently level 35 and play nearly every evening (work permitting), and don’t take things too seriously. Our primary focus is PvE, since we have never really been into PvP in the other MMOs, but we will most certainly give it a go at a later stage.

Also we are currently on Ruins of Surmia and will gladly move since it seems rather quiet here!

I am the guild leader for Cry Havoc. We’re a small guild on Emhry bay. Now, you may think small = bad, but that just means that there is room for you! we have 17 players, (all adults except for my 15 year old son) and we love this game too!

we usually play from 2 or 3 eastern till about 10 or 11 eastern, but you can find some of our guys on all night. We run dungeons daily, and I might brag a little and say we’re getting pretty good at it.

We use ventrilo for everything…we’re usually yacking about something in there, even if it isnt necessarily about the game, its more social. but we require everyone to have it, so that we can be better organized.

We are a group of friends, but we arent a clique, so there wont be any problem with you not being able to get in on what we’re doing.

last thing is, we are on the Emhry bay server, but as of right now, server transferrs are free, so as long as you use ventrilo, we’d love to have you.

Hey there OtakuD,

I’m the leader of a guild on the EU server Desolation.

We’re called Brothers of Aesir, and essentially we’re a PvX “do a bit of everything guild”. While our primary focus is currently in WvW and Dungeons, if you ask our members for help at any point you will get the help you require!

Need help clearing a zone? That’s fine. Need help on a story mission? That’s cool too. Need some crafting mats? No problem, we’ve got a bunch spare.

We are about 35 members strong at the minute, with a core of about 15 that use teamspeak every night. We’re dedicated to making BoA a community in which we can be proud to represent and as such we’re very picky about who we recruit, we don’t want to disrupt the beautiful community and friendships we’ve already started to form in Brothers of Aesir.

As I stated, TS is used regularly and this allows us to effectively run dungeons, play wvw and have a ton of banter. We love to have fun while we play. Also, we’re 18+ with a one week trial period. This is to make sure that both parties are a fit for each other.

My name is Lanka, and I’m Guild leader of Imperium, a mature guild with European players.
Our guild is full of mature, helpful people. We’re all 21 + in age. Doesn’t mean we’re all serious adults though, can still laugh and have fun !
Our guild is small and we like it that way. Every member is a person and not a number. Yeah we recruit the player not the person. We have around 70 members at the moment, which I think is quite a lot, but 50% of them are casual players. The other 50% is pretty active.
We run regular non mandatory events and members often organize their own dungeon runs over the guild chat. In fact we do something every day, but people can choose whatever they want to do, if they rather do something else.
We use voice chat mostly to chit chat and joke around. For us, vent is not only used for doing events together, but also to get to know each other. Using vent outside of dungeons and events is thus greatly encouraged. That doesn’t mean we don’t use the guild chat though. We have members that never speak on vent because of family issues.
We are not elitist, but we know how to get things done. We have quite a few “experienced” players who are helpful and tell you how you can do certain things. I truly hate elitism myself and more importantly, we’d never single someone out.
We have active forums and voice chat. All our events are announced there and also the contests we hold. We have a screenshot contest every month with nice prizes, a lottery, in game guild meetings. Obviously if you’re not interested in these things, they aren’t mandatory. But it’s those little things that add to our community. And as I said before, our vent channel is really active.
Our officers know how to run events effectively and aren’t afraid to say when someone isn’t doing what they are supposed to be doing (but in a nice way) and doesn’t get all mad and kitten off. I run most PVE content, and 3 other people are holding wvW content.
Obviously for a lot of these things, you will just have to wait and see what we’re all about. I don’t wan’t you to think that I’m just answering the way I think you’d want to be answered. If you have any questions, feel free to reply. We can also arrange a chat on out Vent if you want.

I am the leader of Onslaught Vanguard on Ferguson’s Crossing.
We are actively recruiting people. We do dungeons, events, farming, helping each other, storymodes, looking to add WvW and PVP in the mix. about 98% of the guild is between 18-40 yrs old. We have several 80s now most of the guild is between 30-60 though. we have right now about 33 maybe 34 members. we are looking to be between 40-75 maybe more with exceptions.
We use ventrilo a small server at the moment at least.

Thanks for the responses guys, unfortunately most of our playtime will be on our own private mumble as we need to communicate our quest objectives, when we need help etc as we quest, so chatting on vent with the guild would just be quite awkward.

Of course we will join the chat when doing events as well as guild chat but I cant see us joining chat outside of our playtime, nor do I think you all want to be bombarded every time I need a banner boost!

I am one of the founders of “House of Anarchy” in the Gandara server. We are not in a US server but since you said you are mostly from UK I thought you might be interested. We are a small Guild (3 people at this moment). But we are looking forward to grow into a nice community. We are very active in the late afternoon and night. Connecting almost every night.
We host organized WvW and Dungeons nights! Also we help each other level up and share our crafts to better equip our characters. We have guild bank and emblem. Our goals are keep on increasing the influence to be able to upgrade for the emblem armor and weapons, also to get the specific banners that boost WvW and economy, while enjoying playing.

Judge kill stuff, but we also a community guild with 6 years + as a guild in several games. Stong social community with alot of nationalitys, good friends and fun gameplay if you join us.

We do kinda serious wvwvw some evenings but in smal teams and laughting and beer is on the weekends a big part of the event. To have fun is always center and you wont dissapear in the crowd.

TS usage is kinda a need as we prioritice the community and know ppl we play with.
