As one of the founding members of the guild I’d like to provide you all with some more info of what we are about.
We created the guild with loners like myself in mind. I am typically not a guild person and usually play solo. This caused me to jump from mmo to mmo since I wasn’t rooted with people that I enjoyed playing with. I also decided that I didn’t want to become a member of these super elite guilds that made mandatory rules for their members such as you must be on vent, you must register on site, you must check site daily, you must participate in all guild events. These guilds seemed professional to me but were way too demanding for people with a real life. So like most people in life when they couldn’t find a product that met their needs, we invented our own.
Our guild was made for both casual and hard core players alike. We have all the features of a hard core guild and a separate set of ranks for them as well as having a separate set of ranks and features for the casual player. Our only demands are that you follow our simple guidelines for communication in guild chat mostly. Other than that you are free to come and go as you like, play as you like, while having a friendly guild that is there to help you out or lend an ear when you have a question.
Our goal is twofold. First to become a large guild that can compete in PvP and WvW with the best of our server. Second, to provide an environment that is like a family where people are encouraged and can grow their own ways, while at the same time being encouraged, but not forced, to participate in guild sponsored events.
We currently are at about 50 members and have open invitations to anyone that wants to join. Once our numbers start to reach the guild cap we will close down the open enrollment to allow room for guild mates personal friends to join.
Keep in mind you are free to join any number of guilds at once, so we encourage you to sign up with us and give us a try. Should you have any needs we are not currently meeting feel free to post in our forums suggestions or let me know personally. As far as events go, we are starting small to build up a following without forcing people to attend. We have events scheduled for tomorrow afternoon all the way through the weekend. Friday will be our harvesting day where you get a bonus for mats gathered and we will be working towards filling our vault for our crafters. Saturday we are having 24 hour PvP event and Sunday a 24 hour PvE event.
On Friday and Sunday we will be placing guild banners in different zones that everyone in the game is welcome to come touch for either a 10% gathering bonus or 5% Xp bonus, curtsy of Order of the Ravenblades! Keep an eye out for our announcement in the /map chat when we place them for the location and come reap the benefits!
