Guild Wars 2

Who are we?
We are Bacon Bacon, a guild from Europe. We are friends from other MMOs (primarily Guild Wars, World of Warcraft, Aion and Rift). We have formed from previous successful guilds and gaming communities.
Stretching as far back as the launch of the original Guild Wars we ran a friendly and active community taking part in 100’s of events. With the release of Guild Wars Factions and the ever increase in guild and alliance population we claimed the rank as the largest European Luxon alliance followed by a run of success in GvG and Hall of Hero’s over the coming years.

One of these guilds went by the name of Immortalis Noctis, as a guild we were extremely successful in Aion and Rift, securing server first in Aion and world 4th in Rift for PvE progress. Now nearly one year later we hope to achieve the same Guild Wars 2. We are currently looking for recruits, with the same interest in high end content to join our ranks. Bacon Bacon will be focusing on both PvE and PvP. All of our core members and council team have experience in high end content and the organisation required to tackle that content and therefore are used to working as a team.

The guild is managed by two leaders that work together to deliver in different areas of the game. This allows both an increased presence of leadership and a greater degree of expertise. Alongside the leaders a number of officers work closely with members to insure events, knowledge and advice has maximum accessibility.

What do we offer?
First and foremost, we offer a community that I’m sure, you will find special (in every sense of the word). This community already includes a fully functional forum which our members can use to communicate with each other even when out of game. As well as this we share an active mumble server with the TFU gaming community, an FPS centric community that plays the latest and most popular FPS’s, allowing members of both community’s to move freely between games without losing access to the groups to play with. Being a part of Bacon Bacon will allow you to experience all of the content that Guild Wars 2 has to offer, as well as participate in highly competitive PvP against other players in a structured and enjoyable playing environment, where everyone can play to the highest standard of their abilities, casually or professionally.

What do we expect?
- Maturity: Messing around in chat, on the forums and on mumble is fair game but during Operations we expect people to be bringing their ‘A’ games and to focus. We do not recruit under 18’s however there has been and will be exceptions that are handled on a per case basis.
- A Sociable Team Player: We want everyone in the Guild to excel at what they do and in GW2 this can only truly happen as part of a team, each player’s weakness is covered by the player(s) next to him. We also want you to communicate whether it’s giving info to the Op leader/ teammates or just talking to your fellow members. We’re here to have fun and play together, we’re not here to just show up at Op start and all log off at Op finish.
- Dedication: Dedication is measured in a number of ways, the most noticeable of these is attending Ops, but we do not underestimate the value of a player who is active on the forums, helps grind materials and siege weapons for the Guild, even if that player can only attend our ‘official’ Ops once or twice a week.
- A Quality Player: Simply put, we don’t want idiots and people who cannot understand the concepts of the game. There is a difference between being new which includes learning how to play your class etc and being the guy who can’t run out of fire and thinking that his only job is to do the most damage. We do NOT want the second type of player, but newcomers who are willing to learn are more than welcome.
- Open for Criticism: If you’re doing something wrong a council member or maybe a longer-standing member of the guild will comment on it. This is not with the aim of putting you down but for you to realise what you are doing wrong and to learn and play better as a result. Don’t take this as a personal insult and get defensive about it just learn from the experience and get right back on the proverbial ball.
- Eager to Learn/Teach: Chances are you will meet a player that knows more than you and that is not a problem at all, what we do expect is for you to ask for help off that member and to learn how to build your character correctly for the role or situation you will be in. If you are a player who has been number crunching and testing different theories out to find what works best, there is a fair chance you will meet a player that you could help tutor/teach. Sharing your time and expertise with your fellow guild members will earn you a lot more respect within the guild than just being the guy/girl who rocks the largest amount of kills or the highest damage output.

Guild Operations
The guild will run a number of events throughout the week and during weekends. These events will be advertised on the guild forums and using the guild MoTD. Invites for those events will start 30 minutes to an hour before hand, but this is purely optional — it will be simply “warming up”. Furthermore, due to the nature of the game ( such as the dynamic events) there will most likely be impromptu group challenges available, at which point Guild members will make it known to the guild so those who are online and want to participate, can do exactly that. Scheduled guild events will tend to be run by an officer, however if you wish to organise an event you are more then welcome to, assuming it doesn’t conflict with the existing Guild calender, however a good quality of organisation is required.

Strong leadership and guild structure, comprised of gamers with experience of managing content focused guilds in other MMO’s. Here to participate in and enjoy all aspects of GuildWars 2.

Do not get discouraged when seeing the class you wanted to apply as has no open spots, we are always looking for exceptional applicants, trying never hurts.

Is there a minimum limit of events we are required to participate in throughout the week?

Also, is there any minimum level requirement on joining? Currently, I’m unable to play due to my PSU blowing up (on the 2nd day of headstart, how unlucky), new one should hopefully get delivered tomorrow and, assuming I don’t get hacked, should be online to carry on leveling (will have alot of patches to download I think >.<)

Sorry for the late reply Xeri, was abit occupied, there is no minimum limit, but obviously if you dont attend any at all then there’s a slight issue, there are no level or class restrictions on joining either.
