We are currently in 5th place and going to be 4th place next week so we will be the next server to be pulled into tier 1.

Our NA crew is unstoppable, but we lack Euros/Oceanics.

Our current Night crew is NA players staying up all night. We are looking for Oceanic or Night time players to transfer before payed transfers.

We use a server Team Speak with over 10 different guilds and hundreds of people on at all times.

SoR just got a small-medium sized oceanic transfer from a guild, and we are hoping to expand. Hopefully, this is just the start, and just be aware that if you guys transfer over here, you won’t be alone! =D

Come to SoR! We use Golems to fight Legendary Defenders! There are entire zergs of people here who think they are trains! We have Alpaca Owls, Dear Hunters! and much much more!

On a more serious note, as a vet of several MMOs, never have I seen a more stand up community of players, someone is always willing to help, WvW is a team effort, no guild is ever working alone, we work together or we fall.

Please note that we need primarily off NA hour players to make up for coverage shortages. Our NA crew is extremely competitive, effective, and has playing together for quite a while.

A warning though to any NA prime time players thinking of transferring to SoR. We already have queues during NA prime time and they can be quite lengthy. Consider that before any guilds with those play hours transfer here. Simply put, you will be in long queues and may not get to play with each other often.

I’ve spoken on Twitter about how, on my return to Rift, I rejoined my old Rift guild, Gaiscioch. It’s been a blast being back with them, and even though they are a freakishly huge guild, they feel more like a “family” guild than many of the other smaller guilds I’ve been a part of. We’ve been running lowbie Instant Adventures for the lower-level folks, raid rifts and expert rifts and crafting rifts for the 50s, and they have a ton of dungeon and raid runs going on every night. It really and truly is an amazing group of people and a great guild to call home.

Despite the joy, there’s been some sadness in the guild since I last ran with them. One of the long-time members of the guild, Roger “Oldroar” Rall, passed away suddenly last fall. He just stopped appearing online abruptly, and after about two weeks, our GM and a couple of others started trying to track him down to check on him. They spoke to his wife, who said that he had quietly passed away one night. Of course, the news spread like wildfire in the guild, back to former members/alliance members that had played with him during Warhammer and DAoC, and everyone, even those who had never met him, felt a profound sense of loss.

Oldroar was the kind of guy that set the tone and example for the rest of the guild. In-game, he was a calm and collected PvP leader who led his teams to victory while always acting with honor towards the opposing teams. To the men, he was a mentor and an example of how to be a great husband & father, and how to balance those responsibilities with gaming. To the ladies, he was always a gentleman and treated us as equals, with respect and dignity. He was a grandfatherly figure to the kids in the guild, and he was someone that we all could go to for advice not just on game strategies and problems, but real life problems as well. He encouraged us to follow our dreams, to be better people, and to take the high road when others were not. He was our friend, in the truest sense of the word.

He was also the “Voice of Gaiscioch”… you couldn’t miss that radio voice on vent.

Guild Wars 2 was the game he was most excited about. Oldroar, along with many of the veteran players in Gaiscioch, was an avid PvPer, and after hearing about GW2?s WvW/PvP features, as well as all the other playstyles that would be supported, was leading the charge to get a Gaiscioch chapter opened in GW2, posting news and information as it came out and eventually convincing our leadership to open a branch within Guild Wars 2. More than anything, he was looking forward to playing Guild Wars 2 and to seeing our super-diverse family grow and thrive there.

It was decided that we would hold an in-game/ventrilo memorial for him, not in Rift, but in Guild Wars 2 when it opened – it only seemed appropriate. The date & time had been set, the only remaining question was what server to roll on. Our guild decided to start one final Call to Arms for Oldroar: to try to get a GW2 server named for the man that had been so passionate about the game and had done so much for the guild over the years. We wrote letters and sent emails to ArenaNet, telling them about the person he was, the legacy he has left with us, and how much he adored GW2. We asked them to consider naming a server for Roger, a server that we could call home and continue living out his legacy.

This morning, I heard the news that they are indeed implementing “Sanctum of Rall” as a server. I admit that I cried tears of happiness over this. THANK YOU ArenaNet, for being so awesome. You just made a whole lot of people ecstatically happy. We will do our best to make Sanctum of Rall an amazing home for all playstyles and all players that roll there, just as Oldroar would have wanted.

Sanctum of Rall is alright :P Their NA is pretty hektik. Can compete with sos’ if not better having experienced it myself. IMO they’d be more successful than blackgate in t1 if they filled up a bit more in the sea/oceanic/eu areas.

Also, I know people posting on the forums does not represent a whole server but going by peoples posts I’ve seen over the months, it appears to me that SoR are the only bunch who seem to have respect for SoS :P

We have a love/hate/deep respect type of relationship with SoS. Our matchups with you were probably the most fun many of us on this server have had.

We have a love/hate/deep respect type of relationship with SoS. Our matchups with you were probably the most fun many of us on this server have had.

Yeah ahah. I remember one match, both sides made multiple huge comebacks into the lead in the one week :P

Agreed. Like them or not, SoS is a force to be reckoned with (after all they are #1). Having seen both feast and famine, respect is the name of the game for us. I am very excited to have more Oceanic guilds joining us, allowing us NA players to catch up on some much needed sleep :-p

Not “when” but “if” we get to tier 1, I hope it happens when we are ready as a server, having all of our guilds working together as one well oiled machine. No need to rush into tier 1

This was the first server i choose but had some friend in stormbluff Isle so i moved there, i am back in Sanctum of Rall and honestly this is the best server for WvW, the community is great and very orginized and dedicated. Yesterday i was with a few [Choo] guys and we defended TC keep (the keep almost on there spawn place, in EB) for hours

Yeah this whole thing is kind of crazy atm. We’ve had a very powerful NA push for a long time and have always had the off hours going against us. It’s really cool seeing a lot of new faces showing up to support the off hours, which aren’t going to be easy.

So far I’ve got to talk with a few of the new commanders and am really stoked. If any more oceanics or EU come be sure be sure to join into the community, we will still see each other plenty enough and can work past language barriers easily with a little patience. Welcome to those here or those coming.

The road behind us was rough but the road ahead will be harder.

We’ve just moved to SoR with a couple of allied guilds and can testify that it is a fantastic destination server for Oceanic, Asian and EU time-zone crews. The NA organization on SoR is top-notch. I’ve never seen anything like it since the time of TA.

We have added some wonderful guilds from all over the world recently. While our NA is filled to the brim, we would love to welcome Euros/Oceanics/Asians. There’s a rumor of a Russian guild coming over, which for me would be a first for our server that I know of.

Lot of exciting new people and individuals to meet and learn from. The community which was tight knit has grown more diverse but is still just as tight. It’s a blast, if you are interested in getting more information, before you transfer or even think about transferring, send me a PM so you can sit down and talk to us and learn first hand what SoR is about and what type of philosophy and community we have.

We have 3 PLANNED mass logouts this week.

If you are part of a guild interested in transferring over, please get in touch with me so we can relay with you when those logouts are.

We currently have 1 Singapore guild, 1 korean guild, and 1 phillipino guild waiting to transfer. If you are in those time zones please get in touch, if you are part of another time zone please coordinate with us so we can get a different mass logout for you and your guild.

What Oceanic TZone are you in?
Best time to try would be midweek (Tue/Wed) around 8-10am GMT.

We are mainly Australians.

Assume Web/Thu oceanic prime time would be best, but guildies are frustrated as some have transferred while others are left behind unable to transfer as yet.

I have mailed you guys the times for the upcoming lockouts. If you miss those or they do not work for you, please send me another message and we can try for something another time.

I believe that SoS NA coverage wouldn’t have succeeded so strongly at T1 if it were not for the lessons we learned against SoR in T2. You all represent well. Good luck on your recruitment efforts.
