Small(er) Guild Leaders on Tarnished Coast
www.gaminggrace.com
I’m an officer is a small guild on TC. We’ve been doing pretty well getting new members by my standards. Since I took over recruitment posting, we’ve gone from 9 to 30+. That may seem small still but we don’t aim to be huge due to nature of the guild.
If you’re trying to get more members, my best suggestion would be to figure out what makes your guild different. There seems to be a lot of guilds out there looking for the same thing so it makes sense that they would be having a tough time recruiting. In the same vein, you might want to add public information to your site so visitors will know what your guild is all about and what are the expectations of members. All I could find were rules. And if you’re mostly recruiting through your site, you should try to get your current members to post more. At first glance the forums look kinda dead so it’s a bad impression on potential members.
Just a couple hints. Best of luck.

TC’er also….good server. But we don’t RP.
Bigger isn’t necessarily better either. Sometimes it will take what you love and enjoy and turn it into a job. In the end… its about managing and dealing with people and, unfortunately….egos. Ran a large guild for several years. Will never do that again.
A solid group of 15-20 friends if far better than 200 people you barely know. My wife and I run a small guild of about 35 accounts. But as these things go, we have a core group of people..old friends and new friends of about 15-20 also.
If we recruit at all, we do it one at a time by just playing with folks or helping someone out in mapchat or in-game and then playing/talking with them.
Good Luck in whatever you decide…but be careful what you wish for. You might get it.

Its just a matter of taking the time to really form bonds with the people who join the guild. The better chemistry the guild has as a whole is almost contagious to new members.
Also, try to include the new guys as much as possible until they are out of that “not so sure about this guild” phase. Show them your worth by appreciating theirs.
Time is a huge factor too. Guilds don’t grow overnight. It took my guild leader a very long time to get us at 140 members (and steadily climbing now) but each of those members are very loyal.
We are the master race!
