Guild Wars 2

Greetings forums! I’m a new player to Guild Wars 2 (and GW in general) and looking for a medium sized friendly guild that is a nice mix of social, PVE, and casual – light RP (I like RP I’m just horrible at staying in character and get bored sitting around in town for long stretches). I have several characters on the go at the moment, a thief @ 62, engineer @ 52, and a guardian @ 50. Though PVE tends to be my regular preference, I can see myself possibly wanting to get involved in this WvW and PvP stuff, but I don’t really know much about it at the moment.

I firmly believe that RL is a higher priority than games, not just for myself but others as well. I also like to help people out when I can.

I will probably have many newbie questions as I see a lot of things in map chat that I have no idea what people are talking about or if I qualify, so expect random questions… possibly dumb ones.

Turn-ons: Positive attitudes, laid back atmospheres, killing bad guys, minds that are in the gutter and think it’s pretty awesome there, crazy people, freaks, geeks, nutters, loonies, hoopy froods who know where their towels are.

Turn-offs: Bad attitudes, haters, trash talkers, elitists, politics.

Some random and not necessarily useful or relevant facts about me:

My previous online gaming experience includes Asherons Call, WoW, CoH, CO, and several MUDs.

I’ve also played my share of tabletop pnp games, D&D included.

I’ve been 29 for the last couple years.

I am very light hearted and prefer more mature crowds (20+) with a diverse sense of humour and a healthy dash of ridiculous.

My telephone ringtone is the “Men in Tights” song. I have been known to sing along before answering.

And after answering.

I am currently in training to be a volunteer fitness instructor at my local YMCA.

I like to hit the beach in the summer so I may not be around as often as I am during the winter.

I totally have a man crush on Jean-Luc Picard.

My greatest accomplishment this year is going from 320+ lbs and getting winded going up a flight of stairs to (currently) 205 lbs and running a 17.5KM marathon/obstacle course in September.

TLDR; I’d like to start running dungeons and stuff with people, hanging out and telling lame jokes. If I sound like the kind of weirdo you’d like to run dungeons and tell lame jokes with, I can be contacted @ TBM.2608.

Hey TBM.2608, you sound a bit like a Misguided Misfit [LoL] to me…. no, I’m not being rude, that’s the name of our guild.

We’re pretty laid back, and don’t expect members to bind themselves body and soul to the game, there has to be time to dedicate to RL stuff and we understand that. On that note, congrats on your weight loss achievement, that’s awesome! Oh, and I understand the man-crush on Jean-Luc Picard… I’ve had a woman crush on him for years!! Lol Love the Trekkie series… but I digress.

Thank you for your response! I apologize for not replying sooner, I was out enjoying the end of the world (nice day for it). I visited your thread and you sound like an awesome group of people. probably right up my alley!

I am a little concerned about transfering to a EU server. I’m from west coast Canada and I think that would put my usual playing time right around 3-8am for EU timezones, so I’m not sure I’d be able to get to play while anyone isn’t sleeping. Are there many other North Americans in your guild?

We are very proud that even with our up and downs, great times and sad times, that we have endeavored to continue to thrive and continue to exists.
We invite you to visit our guild and talk with us either in game or on vent. . What would it hurt? The majority of our guild is 21 and older, but we also have down to 18 of age. We are all working class and/or university students and/or have families to take care of. We are mainly American and Canadian time zones, but have a few Euros from England, Finland and other areas that came with us from Guild Wars(so International guild). We log on to have fun and relax, so I am guessing you would consider us a casual guild. We have people may do one or a mixture of all; Pve, Pvp, dungeons, and Wvw. We don’t want to make the game a job, because that not what games are for. We are slowly rebuilding the guild at this time. We are looking for people, willing to help us grow. We are friendly and will do what we can or when we can for others in the guild. We enjoy new people, thoughts and ideas. Each new person brings a special gift or unique quality to add to the guild. We truly hope that you will join us and give us a try.

If you like to play other on-line games, we have guildies that may may be playing the games your playing also. Such as (League of legends, Steam games, World of Warcraft, Aion, Tera, Starcraft, Diablo 2, 3) and much more. So I figure we can be considered a gaming (community, guild, or group).
