Guild Wars 2

The last Guild I have been in have been a waist of my time and energy, as well as care, no one in either of the guilds (pre-launch) and the one I have been in since Launch have been Oldbie friendly. I’m tired of explaining lore and story line to players who refused to play Guild Wars 1 or try to not sound like a bandwagon player by confusing newbies with false lore and answers.

I have two level 80 100% map completed characters, working on my third level 80.
I have finished Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, GWEN, Beyond (up to launch of GW2, haven’t logged back on GW1 since.) I have 40/50 HoM points (didn’t have a desire to farm the last 10 points, never really had the funds for obsidian and the last weapons to finish it up)

What I’m looking for in a guild:

1) A guild that has played Guild Wars 1 and knows the story line, my #1 pet peeve is when players play a sequel and complain about the storyline not making sense when they never played the prequel. Case in point, the people on these forums who nerd rage over Guild Wars 2 and have never played Guild Wars 1.

2) Mature and chill, I don’t want to deal with 9-12 year old kitten children who have crappy parents who will explode in guild chat if someone says something in an adult manner in chat. (I actually had a parent chew us out for saying “Fkn hell” lol…. I’m not interested in a “wvwvw now or i kick you!” or a “donate 100 gold for a promotion or i kick you” type of guild.

Probably asking for to much but eh….

If any of the above 2 I will be anal on is #1, I truly want a guild that knows a kitten thing about Guild Wars 1.

Who we are.
The Emerald Fang is a family style guild that was created for Guild Wars 2, but also includes any other games that the members like to play. We understand that everyone has their own kind of style and their own goals in mind and we want to create a community that supports everyone whether you like WvW, sPvP, PvE or just hanging with some like minded people.
How we are organized.
We are an International based guild with members from US/AUS/NZ/BRA etc therefore we organize the guild with officers located in both AUS/US time-zones. This allows us to have members on during most times of the day. Communication is important so we use the tools available to us (Forums, Shoutbox, Teamspeak) to effectively coordinate. We provide structure and events but we are casual. So members can attend any organized event when they want or they can use guild chat to get something started impromptu.
Who we want.
We want people who are friendly and like getting on and helping each other out. People who enjoy using forums and TS3 to communicate. We do ask that you be at least 18, but there can be exceptions.
TLDR:
WvW focused
Organized with 3 Commanders
Structure & Events planned but with a casual environment
Alt runs & map completion runs
TS3 Server /w 512 slots
PvE /w dungeons & map completion for alts & main
International guild with Members from EST/CST/PST US + AUS+NZ+BRA+Japan+China etc so someone always on.
Members enjoy other games outside GW2 with fellow guildies including Minecraft/LoL/PS2

Anyways, hello there Wolfey! I won’t lie to you and say every member of CDS knows guild wars 1 lore, but I can tell you over 45% has played gw1 and knows the more well enough to make jokes pertaining to the past. We also possess a good amount of GWAMM, who walk among us Caedas. wink wink

Well, I can’t say that EVERYONE in our guild has played GW1 but I can say that the three people that run the guild have (as well as a number of others, just not sure on the EXACT numbers).

Anyways, look me up on the hom calculator, “Callidus Of Laconia”. I can say that I too didn’t make it past 40 points.. got the weapons but yea, obsidian armor is too much and the achievements.. well, I copped out.

One of the other guys though has 50.. “Aigiarm Qorchi”, just a little jealous to be honest, gotta love that title.

The last other guy is “Wings Of Asgard”.

Anyways, our guild is based in Crystal Desert and is still fairly small (in the 20s for active players) and trying to grow. We’re fairly laid back and are most active evenings EST and weekend. We run guild events every night (spvp, wvw, dungeons, mini-dungeons, jump puzzles.. look at our event calender lol) and have a guild website and ventrilo (we encourage everyone to get on). Just to add to what was already stated about CLG. I personally understand what you mean, and I myself have played through GW1 multipul times and got 35/50 HoM points played in high-end GvG and HoH matches and wanted to continue my love for the game in GW2.

Our guild is laid back in our events, we schedule them so that guild mates can know what we’re doing – but they are far from mandatory, more like suggestions.
