The Occulus is first and foremost a gaming and role playing community. Our group is full of those who simply love to game and enjoy role playing from time to time. We began as a minecraft group and still host a server though Guild Wars 2 is easily becoming our new home. In addition to hosting a minecraft server we have a teamspeak service and a forum to communicate. The information to access these things will be given upon joining. Additionally we do look to offer a hand to other RP guilds as we would love to collaborate and join in large events other RP guilds are planning. As this game promotes community so too would we like to, so please feel free to contact us beyond simply joining.
To join you can send me a message here or in game or simply post, I will do my best to check in as often as I can as will other members. When you join The Occulus you will begin as an initiate and have limited access. To become a less restricted member we simply need to see you represent often and be active within our community, be it in game, on our forums, or joining us on our teamspeak. We accept all skill levels so don’t be afraid to sign up if you are new to the game or RPing.
As we are an RPing group we would like to hear a little back story to your character and posting such along with a message would be appreciated. It will help give us an idea of your character before hand, but we understand that not everyone has a completely thought out idea right away. To help however we have a simple form that you may use to organize your thoughts and keep the ‘character sheet’ organized.

If and when we plan any they will be listed here, in the guild, and on our own forums. We will keep track of any overarching stories that we participate in or set up for our guild as well to try and keep a timeline of events and lore for our guild.
[The Occulus]
Little is known about the exact motives of The Occulus, a mysterious group that appears often out of no where when trouble is afoot. The group performs heroically in battle and will defend Tyria with their lives, but there always seems to be some secondary motives behind the scenes. What is known is that the group often secures information and artifacts of importance, though how much and what they are after is uncertain. This easily can cause conflict with other guilds and armies, but their duty on the field can often persuade people to let them slide and not bother pursuing further questions. That is not to say people don’t, though these same people may go missing or even come back singing a completely different tune.
Behind the scenes, known only to the Overseer and Sentinels, a dark secret lurks in the center of their order. Within a magically sealed vault of a room, separate from other important treasures and lore, The Occulus’s name sake sits. An Eye of Zhaitan, captured and kept from Zhaitan’s magic, but not his influence. The guild leaders are careful to keep information and any hint o location from the creature while probing it for information both on Zhaitan and the magic that created it. With it’s ‘help’ the guild has gained some foresight into the plans of the elder dragon and some knowledge of how the elder dragons magic works. Further study will help them prepare to fight the remaining dragons, but such dangerous acquisition of knowledge must be kept hidden, as do they hide much of their activities from the public and even lower tier members of the guild it’s self.
