Welcome to Ascent of the Valkyrie (VAL), a guild for those 18 and over who are looking for a fun and relaxed place to play with like-minded individuals. VAL is intended as a pro-woman and, dare I say, feminist guild. If you are a woman, or any kind of ally to women’s rights, you are most welcome here. VAL sees women as whole, real, verifiable human beings, not sexual objects or something to be “othered.” VAL appreciates that there is in-game armor which allows female characters to wear pants and long-sleeved tops, rather than miniskirts and bralets.
We are a casual guild whose focus is on dragon slaying, dugeons, map completion, and WvW. s/tPvP is not a focus but does happen on occasion! We are working on getting upgrades, as it is we have a small guild bank which will eventually be fully upgraded, a guild emblem with armor and weapons on the way, and very soon we will have all banners.
In WvW we play as a small unit capturing small objectives, such as supply camps. Every once in a while we’ll aim for some larger targets but generally try to avoid playing in zergs.
Every week we try to run multiple dungeons (generally exp mode but we help with story mode too) and fractals.
Currently we are just starting up and our numbers are not great, but we are looking to expand!
VAL strives to maintain a high level of discourse, and those members found to be wanting will be quickly asked to shape up or shown the door. We are an LGBTQ-friendly guild, one which very actively eschews the trappings of the often misogynist speech that accompanies many gaming circles. We are, in general, anti- every -ism you can think of, which includes racism, sexism, ageism, ableism, and so on. If this is something you are uncomfortable with, please seek out guilds other than ours where you might be more at home.
