Very ill dad looking for a friendly guild
Oh and I am on Dragonbrand server.
Hi there Aenema. I am sorry to hear about your illness. I hope you both feel better with your symptoms and get better for the long run. I struggled with a severe autoimmune illness two years ago and being really really sick can drastically change how you can function day to day. Stay strong!
My guild is not on your server, we are on Sanctum of Rall. Guesting makes it easy to participate in everything except WvW, and for serious contributing members, people are happy to pitch in and help you save to make the server move. I see you want to get your badges, but if the community is a good fit for you otherwise, hopefully you can join us and transfer over to do WvW with us a little later. ^^
MadCast is a gaming community that is bigger than GW2, but we are working on growing our GW2 sector right now. You can check out our website at www.madcastgaming.com. I especially suggest you read through the forums some to get a feel for what we are all about! Here are some points you may find attractive about MadCast:
We have a mature community. While MadCast has no specific age requirements we do have high expectations for maturity. You will find kind, patient people and no drama. The vast majority of our members are over 18 (especially in GW2).
We are a serious community with casual gameplay. In other words, the main expectations we have for members revolves around positive contribution to the community and not on a packed GW2 schedule attendance. If you are active in the forums and show up to a few events a week, that is good enough for us. On the other hand you can always find players around MadCast of all levels of ‘hardcore’ gameplay, so if you want to play 6 hours a day, srs bsns WvW, there will be people to play with.
We have a super awesome, active TeamSpeak group. We enforce strict rules of respectfulness and tolerance among our players, making it a safe friendly place for everyone. People of all types feel comfortable joining in the conversation and making new friends.
Our community is bigger than in-game. We have a website with a lot of activity and heavy forum use. This is a huge asset because we have people who play all kinds of games over at MadCast, and the forums really serve as the uniting factor among people.
If you check out our website, you will see information about becoming a Full Member of MadCast. This is not something you need to do right away. Our guild welcomes ‘Associate’ Members, meaning we will add you to the guild, you are free to use our TeamSpeak and join our Forums, but you do not have complete access rights for inviting people to the guild yourself, or accessing certain Full Member parts of our forum. This is a good way to find out if MadCast is the right fit for you before applying. In the long run, to gain any ranking position, we require people to be an official MadCast Full Member.
If you want to, I’d love to invite you to join us and meet some of our members. I would encourage you to join us in our TeamSpeak (you can find information about that here: http://www.madcastgaming.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?2-New-to-MadCast). Alternatively, you can private message me in game, and I would be happy to add you in to one of our parties. TeamSpeak is our main form of communication, and even if you aren’t comfortable using your mic, it would be great if you installed it just to listen to the chatter. Quite a few of our members participate this way.
Most of MadCast’s players are in NA, so this could be problematic. :/ We usually have players on from around 12:00 PM EST to 3 or 4 AM EST, so that actually covers a pretty large portion of the day. Our main activity though probably takes place between 7/8 PM and 2 AM EST. However, because you are ill and playing at all hours, this may still cover a time you are on.
This Saturday night (about 36 hours from now, sorry I am bad with time zones) we are having some guild events where we will be doing the new dungeon that came out for the Living Story and also showing new players WvW. You are welcome to join us for that if you want to meet some people and get a feel for things.
If you have any questions you can message me in game, post here, or join our forums and ask there. I will also try to drop you a quick whisper in game if I see you on.
I can promise you that if you join, you will find a family here who is willing to help you out with the troubles you are having with no judgement. We have many very new players, some new to gaming in general, and our environment is built on kindness and helpfulness. Everyone in there will be happy to answer you questions and guide you through things.

Hey, sorry to read about your illness and problems, just thought i’d pop in and wish you well and hope recovering is quick! Hang in there and take care!
Hi,
Thanks for the kind words.
I am a little apprehensive of moving servers because for one, I can’t afford the transfer (I am a pensioner/disability income) and the gems I do have, took me months to save up! I also don’t want to be a burden on anyone and ask for gold for gems. That’s not what I am about!
If people want to help, so be it – but I prefer it to be in game doing things together and having patience with me.
Today I did some tests in hospital so I have been sleeping most of the day. I might get back into the game in the next few days and take some of these offers into consideration!
Cheers,
Tony
We’re building a strong community of Australians and Americans, and we like to run PvE and we support one another through dungeons and farming events.
We are on Ehmry Bay, but with guesting and the like you can still be part of the community and get things done with friends.
Just PM me if you have any questions, or message me in game.
You do realize that guesting to another server is Completely free right and is Unlimited ? Unless you are planning to do a whole lot of wvwvw, wich is the only thing you cannot do when guesting to a server i’d suggest that if you cannot afford it to transfer atm to use this function.I think you can guest up to 2 servers at the same time for an unlimited amount of time.Gives you some time to see wich server fits you right.
I don’t mind guesting, but I am after a permanent home and a guild to stick with for years to come. If I have to transfer I don’t mind doing it, but I would need help as I cannot financially cover the costs of the gems.
I actually did guest onto the Sanctum of Rall server (to check out MCG guild) but as soon as I got disconnected, I was bumped back to Dragonbrand. This happened twice, mid event which just turned me off guesting. In Australia they are upgrading our internet networking and my area will have more work until the 16th May. This means my connection will be unstable until then. Thankfully when it’s finished, I will get my ultra fast internet speeds back!
Anyway…look forward to more offers etc to join guilds or guilds willing to help me transfer over permanently.
Cheers
Tony (Lucius).
Look if finding Australians to play with is difficult for you try guesting and finding a guild on Sea of Sorrows durign that timezone as Sea of Sorrows is the unofficial australian NZ server also on my tag is a link to our website with a datatbase of all the active guilds have a browse through that i’m sure you will find plenty of Australian guilds to your liking.
