Before you read this, I posted this list on another thread, but I thought it wasn’t a good idea, since that topic only asked about 1 specific part of the event, and devs had already answered it. I wanted to edit it out, but it was too late, so I am sorry in that matter. Now, I will put my questions here, as there are multiple things I’m asking about.

1. How will we know how many weapon skins, costumes, recipes, and permanent items will be available during the event?

2. How will we know how to craft the more permanent items? Recipes? If so recipes, wouldn’t purchasing with Karma prevent lower level players from obtaining these recipes during the event, since they won’t have as much Karma as the level 80 players? With the given time of about 10 days of the event, will that be enough time to gather the materials and karma that will be required to craft/obtain these items? I would assume you can only use items from the event to craft the weapons/skins and such. As said, there will be gear crafting that doesn’t require the max level, but requires level 80 to use; don’t you think that dissuades players from moving to get such items?

3. Weapon skins and perhaps other things will be available in black lion chests; a chance, anyway. What’s the likely hood that we will get a weapon skin from a chest? It would make sense to have a high chance to get these, but I would like to see confirmation on the likely hood.

4. It was mentioned that these craftable items can be sold; not that this is an issue, but does this mean that after the event and the materials needed to make the items are gone, that the prices for these items will skyrocket, as they are no longer attainable? And after the event is over, can it be said that players will be able to craft and attain the items next year during Halloween?

5. How will players not familiar with the information on the event, be able to find discover all the information within the game? Meaning all event related quests, what npcs to talk to, location upon logging in?

I hope that Arenanet puts this data on the wiki when the event goes live.

The GW Wiki was always updated with festival info pretty fast. I have no doubt that ANet and the community will have it posted in no time.

There will be a trail of candy corn, smashed pumpkins, and zombies that lead you to each place.

1) You kind of don’t. A big part of Guild Wars 2 is discovery and exploration, and we believe that it’s fun enough to not simply hand the players a list of everything they can do.

2) There’s about 10 questions in this one, so briefly: I never said that max level crafting wasn’t required, I just said that you don’t necessarily need to be a max weaponsmith. Also, I think there will be plenty of time/methods to acquire enough holiday-specific items to craft these weapons.

3) I don’t know the specific chance, sorry.

4) Possibly, the market will decide.

5) Again, discovery plays a part in it. But your best bet is to go to Lion’s Arch. There should be some information clearly available there.

Thanks for providing some information, and yes, I understand the whole discovery aspect of it; some people like me like to know to what extent to content will reach, but I do suppose figuring it out can be quite exciting.

Wow, you really would rather them publish all the information on the event rather than just do it yourself and find out?
Isn’t actually playing the game part of playing the game anymore?
Why even log on then? Just let the devs have your account and play it for you.

Sorry wasn’t trying to be harsh, just putting in my 2copperworth. Sorry if i offended you OP. I mean technically it’s your game..you play how you want!

You know it’s nice and all that some people like to discover on their own everything they can do and obtain in an event like this. But for the rest of us we like to know that we have done and obtained everything we want of all the stuff you can do and obtain from the event. So with that said is there a guide (checklist at minimum) of all we can do and obtain in the event? At least as long as they are unwilling to provide such info officially. They haven’t even updated the official info page to reveal the first act info even though it has started.

Can a dev spawn me a Dusk please?

The biggest question I have regarding the event is this: Will the halloween event this year be the same as the one next year?

Reason being: I will want to grab every halloween skin I possibly can if they won’t be available next year.

Or rather, will the content from this year also be available next year? They could change and add things, but still keep the skins.

I actually appreciate that he asked those questions.

I like playing the game and discovering things, but since we’re on a time limit and I’m doing a bunch of stuff this year that doesn’t in anyway involve playing the game, I like to have a good idea of what I’ll be able to accomplish and what I need to do to accomplish it in time.

If I only have one shot at this stuff this year, I want to know what I should be prioritizing in order to get it. So far, the Halloween staff (not sure if it’s Black Lion or Crafted) is the only goal that I have ‘cause it’s the only solid piece of information I have available.

Would be nice to know if I have a shot at getting some of these things, or if I should just save up gold to buy them from other people. It’ll also be nice to know if I can just get the materials to craft everything, buy the recipes, then take my time actually getting my crafting skills up to the required level in order to craft everything, or if I’ll be required to get max crafting in the next few days.

I’ve been taking my time in every other aspect of the game (I have 8 characters at level 30-40, ‘cause I’ve been splitting time evenly between them), but now that I have a time limit, casual discovery has to go on the backburner for a bit.

I hope not, considering i’ve played over 200 hours and never had a single key drop apart from story rewards.

73 chests in my bank and only 1 key. Hoping i either get another key or something decent. Unlikely though.

To be fair everything available this year (items, minis, etc) should be available next year regardless if you decide to tell a different story for the event. Not everyone will be able to play every single day and be hardcore or have been hardcore to be able to get everything assuming that stuff isn’t so common that it would be dirt cheap and super easy to get. Not to mention others who will miss it completely (military etc). It would be ok to have a free mask or whatever cosmetic item like the head gear thing for GW1 for each holiday be exclusive to that year but the rest should be permanent to the event year after year. Those who can’t log in for the exclusive free cosmetic item could have trusted relative log in for them to get it and not have to worry about missing out of other goodies since they would be there every year.

I think they should keep the ones from this year, and just add more rewards to the new story next year. so that if people couldn’t get something they really wanted this year they can get it the next.
