I went about the place collecting 150 candy corn just so I could transmute the appearance of my shortbow. I used a fine transmute stone but I could not drag it into the window. There appears to be a 3 hour countdown timer started also once I bought the bow.
Is this bow going to disappear in 3 hours? why cant I transmute it ?
Not happy at all about just after wasting 150 candy corn if I can do nothing with the bow.

Thanks for the info.
If I’d only known this 10 mins ago. I had not seen anything posted to say it would not transmute. Gonna be much more careful now doing things or what I spent the candycorn on. I dont see any merchants selling any recipies to craft is it a disovery item?

You can buy it with silver too instead of wasting candy corn. Also you can see the time limit before you even buy it. The actual permanent weapon skins are very rare and difficult to make, these cheap versions are just fun that everyone can play around with for a little bit. Otherwise I’m pretty sure we’d all be using them and then they wouldn’t be rare or interesting.

If you look at the item in the vendor, it states that it only lasts 4 hours and exists solely so people can preview it.
Forget what it said exactly, but it did state its temporary-ness in someway. Sorry to hear about it though.

Don’t worry about candy corn, you’ll get tons of it if you try, I have 3 250 stacks just from doing the 100 doors achievenment.

More of a long term goal.

Eh you’re going to have to invest yourself heavily into the bow if you actually want it. Crafting it is no easy task. Not really worth it, but thats just my opinion. You can use Google to find the exact method to craft it, but you’ll need some Halloween drops and rare materials just to discover the recipe to craft it.

Wait, what 100 doors achievement? I have yet to have the doors where I trick-or-treated count for anything. Only spawned mobs counted for “Halloween Huntin’”.

The way rare items in this game are designed amounts to not playing the game, rather the only way to reasonably get these in less than 6 months of farming is by playing the Trade Post.
I wish MMO’s didn’t force you to choose between participating in economy minigames or incredible grinds if you want legendary items. If legendaries just cost a decent amount of different dungeon tokens and karma and honor badges, it’d be better than random crafting mat drops. Playing the auction house does not entertain me in the slightest, but it is a requirement for getting legendaries in this game.

Here’s the crafting process for Arachnophobia, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gift_of_Spiders
All you need to collect during the Halloween event is 2250 Candy Corn (~8g to buy it all, or just collect it, I got 250 playing around in borderlands yesterday for a couple hours) and 100 Plastic Fangs (~2g on the trading post). You’ll also need someone in your guild with the Superior Sigil of the Night recipe, or you’ll have to get that yourself too. Everything else can be collected over the next year to make it.

By definition, if everybody is special, then no one is. If they do it your way then these things are no longer legendary or special now is it? These are all meant to be long term goals. The people who have them now are either:
A. Incredibly dedicated
B. Incredibly lucky
C. Was supported by their guild
D. All of the above.
