I’m still a bit confused by this. I know once you discover it, you can make it ay any time. What I want to know is, if I don’t discover, say, the superior run of the Mad King before the end of 31st, does that mean I lose my chance at discovering the recipe?

I don’t believe so. As long as you have the halloween crafting items, you can craft it anytime of the year.

Just to clarify, you don’t “discover” the recipes, you have to get the recipe (vendors (cooking), chest, tot bags, mystic forge, etc) after Halloween is over the only way to get the recipes would be the mystic forge as long as you have the items that are required (some are Halloween exclusive mats)

wait, I can’t make the recipe myself, whether it’s throwing them into the forge or at the crafting stations without actually find the recipe as a loot first?

See why I’m confused? I thought there are 2 ways to get the recipes: you find one as a drop; you make it at the crafting station/throw the right stuff into the forge.

or do you get the recipes from the forge, and then you can “discover” the item? or do you not discover it at all since you would know the recipe by then?

I did a lot of looking into the matter and finally got all the materials in the mystic forge for the plans for ‘the crossing’. imagine my disappointment when i found out that all the weapons are also dungeon drops. after giving up on the scythe skin i thought i would still have something unique. guess again.

I wish Anet gave some answers on this. Got all the halloween mats for all the recipes, but don’t want to spend 30g on certain regular mats for the recipes right now. Certainly not if the recipes would disappaer after the halloween event. But if the recipes can only be mystic forged during halloween and the keep existing after, I would gladly pay that 30g.

so… i coul discover and craft aracnophobia also at the end of halloween??
