Guild Wars 2

I can’t make the event, and I’m super bummed about this. Other than missing the event, I’m also worried that I’ll miss the chance at some 1 time gift or halloween item tied to the event.

Guild Wars 1 had finale events, but they reset every 3 hours for 24 hours to make sure everyone could make it. Each event also ended with an exclusive holiday hat. I really wish/hope anet changes this 1 time event in the future to play more like the original.

Agree with this. It worked fine in gw1. I dont really understand there excuse for changing it here. They only want it a one time event so we dont end up seeing spoilers about it?

If you can’t be online Sunday at noon (or 8pm in Europe) then you can’t expect a company to cater to you like this. One time events are going to happen, and they chose (albeit a little late) the exact right time to do one.

Yeah, I’m in Australia, so the event kicks off at 6.00AM on our 29th (monday). Unfortunately I will miss it due to that being the time I’m in the car on my way to work.
Am I sad I’ll miss it? Sure. Does it really matter though? No.
I just hope all those who experience it have a blast!

Some of us came from a game called Guild Wars 1. We foolishly believed that this game, being called Guild Wars 2 and all, would be similar. Yeah, we were silly. Yeah I guess we deserve to learn the hard way. Of course there is only one way to really show a company how you feel about them. That..is with a pocket book, or in my case a plastic card that I’ve removed from the account

at risk of sounding whiny or ungrateful, I’m kind of upset about this. I have to work that day so I won’t be able to make it, and I’m wondering why they couldn’t have set up multiple events during the day so that more people have a chance to participate?

Isn’t the one-shot event just the Mad King appearing or something similar. I don’t imagine it would be tied to an item, and it’s not tied to an achievement. As much as I personally would enjoy it happening every 3 hours, I can understand if it’s just him appearing. That lion can only blow up once.

We don’t know much about this event yet guys. And by the post the devs made, it seems like we won’t be missing out on an item, just a neat visual (Probably the first appearence of the Mad King?) cutscene maybe with jokes and such.
