…the Mad King’s Ascent instance in Lion’s Arch that has already been removed from the game? My power went out mid dungeon due to Sandy and by the time I was able to get back into Tyria, the dungeon was gone.

I’m pretty sure you don’t need to beat him.

I just went into the dungeon solo and managed to take down maybe 1 enemy before I gave up and left and I got the achivement so even if the power cut out part way through doing it you should still have it.

If you didn’t go in at all however then I think you are stuck. The incredibly short time periods for activities seems to be the one big issue with this festival. It’s caused problems for a lot of people, even without the hurricane involved.

You don’t need to beat him, you just need to visit the dungeon. If you lost power, though, the game might have “forgotten” that you were there? That’s happened to me a few times.

It sucks that they required the dungeon to be visited, I’ve missed it completely, (machine spewed its guts out three weeks ago, got it working few minutes prior to the start of act4), currently sitting at 4/5 overall…and that’s the way it’s gonna be for a whole year, with 3/4 of ’it’s a mad kings world’ completed…That’s going to bug me to no end.
…They should make the tower achievement count towards the whole thing. :P

Once the event is over I doubt the halloween tab is going to even be there. It’ll be replaced by the next special event in the special event tab (Thanksgiving, apparently)

The Ascent to Madness dungeon is one of the 4 locations you need to visit to complete the Mad King’s Realm achievement track. However, I’m not sure if you need to beat the dungeon or just visit it, so you may still be in the clear, OP. If your Mad Realm exploration reads 4/4, you’re good.
