Halloween event : exclusive weapon skins in BL Chests
i have at least 10 keys for my 35 chests i do think they will make it account bound i dont want to derail or hijack thread but i support that part.
AS!! Anet has stated by themselves that skins wont be the only thing will come out, so everybody will keep something from this event.
as i said i have 10 keys ive never been the luckiest guy in MMOs so at least from that 10 keys i hope to get a skin if i dont i might try with another one but not before i cry in a corner.

10 keys could easily turn into 25 open chests. Wish I had. 1. key :/
I hope that drop rate will be higher than 10% otherwise this will be a huge gold/dollar/enter your currency sink.
@Zii: you couldnt say it any better, still lets wait and see im not sure if i want to be one of the “first” to open chest but well…

You guys are dreaming; Ref: Guild Wars: Trick-or-Treat Bag/Drop rate ranged from 20% to 5% with nothing Bling being given. Christmas was pretty much the same, again nothing Bling. The only note worthy Bling was:
Miniature Polar Bear – 0.02% ( refer to the GW1 wiki for validation )
Miniature Celestial Dragon – 0.5% ( refer to the GW1 wiki for validation )
I’m not saying the good stuff will not be there, just if it’s good, Arena-net has a long history of making sure it’s exclusive.
Can a leopard change its spots
The main difference between drops in GW1 events and GW2 is that you can buy with real money a chance to drop an event item.
Therefore drop rates shouldn’t be the same. The goal of this post was to know how many chests people from this forum are planning to open (with gold or money) so we could estimate the percentage of skins drop rate.
The more people are planning to buy keys, the lower the rate will be I’m not saying the rate will change, I’m saying that I’m sure Arenanet already defined a loot table for chests depending on the estimated number of chests players will open.
A good number will be something not to small so people can get some but not too big so not everyone can get it. And this number will mostly be defined by the amount of estimated opended chests during the event.
I might try a few if there’s a skin I like and the chance isn’t impossible. I’m not a fan of gambling . Will be happy to get a costume if I like how they look. Hope they add storage NPCs like the ones in GW1 or something for these event items. ;/
I currently have 91 BL Chests, and I buy 5-10 keys every two weeks. There are a further 60(?) in the Guild Stash. To the best of my knowledge, everyone in my guild is in a similar position. This tells me that the servers are flooded with Chests, something that is reflected in their TP value. ANet could sell the keys at 50% off (10 for 450 gems) and they still wouldn’t put a dent in what’s out there because most people already have more Chests than they will ever pay to open.
I would hope that the drop-rate of keys would be increased. I think I have found about 10 keys since release, almost 8 weeks ago. You could double, triple or even quadruple their drop rate for the event without impacting sales on the Gem Store.
Of course, we’re all assuming that normal keys will work and that there aren’t Halloween Keys…
Kyxha 80 Ranger, Sokar 80 Necro
Niobe 80 Guardian, Symbaoe 45 Ele
RNG gambling.
Halloween goodies could have come from quest lines, mob drops, karma merchants, or a number of other more palatable methods.
Instead greedy anet has chosen profit & to line its pockets, & have us punters gamble for their goodies, sad.
Halloween goodies will also come from quests, events and mini-dungeon. The items in the chests are just some of the many items we will be able to get. Devil horns for example will be free and probably given every 3h in LA during an event (if it’s like in GW1).
I hope the costumes are not in the chest as well.
A lot of people don’t seem to understand that many of people’s gripes with this isn’t that that you have to buy them with gems, but that the only way to get them is through the BL chests. we also have no idea how high or low its drop percent is, and knowing a-net, it could be something like 20% or even as low as 1 or 2%.
If we had the option to buy the skins separately or in a pack for a set amount most of the complaining will go way, it’s just the RNG/gambling with real money nature of this that has people irritated.
