I solo’d him too, right when it opened. Why? Because my whole team entered too but were seamingly in another “instance” of the dungeon. There were lots of problems with joining in as a team right at the start.
True that the first platform is the hardest. You can fight him with ranged weapons from on the chains there so that you are not annoyed by the pumpkins (they don’t spawn on the chains). The 2nd platform you have to face him head on but it was more easy and the 3rd platform too. I had a blast, it was epic doing this solo. It’s fun though with full team since it goes much faster and is way more easy.
Gz! I did it in 1hr 30mins last night with my 47 mesmer & a friend on his 18 elementalist. It’s a lot more epic that way than with a full group of real 80’s ^^

Cripes man. God forbid someone accomplishes something they’re proud of. Solo a brand new 80 champion with no elite, 2 utilities, and almost no trait points? Yea, I’m impressed. Is it the coolest thing ever? No. But still, give the man his dues. He committed 2hrs to this endeavour, rather than zerging the MK with a party of true 80’s. Slower but he probably feels prouder than they do.
Did it right after event started (was separated from my team, as were a lot of other people). Traits are nice but I havent used any of elites, because they are all dung on guardian anyway.
Would rather done it in a party, faster and less boring (i practically autoattacked him for all of 20+ minutes, i only used one shout through all of the dungeon, that being retreat for faster jumping).

Whether you were first or 20,000th to solo the Mad King, in the grand-scheme of millions of players, you’re probably one of the lowest levels to have done it. Don’t listen to the poopooers, I notice none of them have said ‘I solod him with a level 16 (or less)’. Well Done

Wow, can someone say deuchebag? Like cheerleaders/football team go on to do anything significant with their lives lol. They will hold onto their high school popularity for as long as possible. (except those that play professional football—in that case good for them!).

Good job! Not the first, but it’s still cool. I tried soloing him on my 24 Ranger, got him down to the bottom platform, and then my wireless router had about a minute of mysterious heavy packet loss (it’s normally pretty reliable, and hasn’t done anything like that since), just long enough for the game to boot me . I didn’t feel like starting over from scratch, so I called it good.
