I learned a valuable lesson from this holiday event...
Lesson: exploit every single patch before they nerf it to the ground.
Most important lesson i ever learned on this game.

Pretty much, but I’m still too lazy to do that.
I also learned a valuable lesson from this holiday event:
That I SHOULD really hype myself up for future ones. The clocktower is amazingly adrenaline-pumping, visually impressive and perfectly balanced, the labyrinth is fun, and the PvP minigames are genuinely unique, enjoyable, and rewarding.
I also really love the scavenger hunt.
You really can’t call playing the game how it is to be exploiting.
I spent a few hours in the labrynth. I got 2 exotics. I admit that’s 2 more than I’d get if I were running in a Cursed Shore zerg. It didn’t feel like an exploit. And furthermore, if I left after my first chest, those same exotics would have dropped for someone else.

This.
I don’t see all the complaints honestly. I totally loved clocktower (which was challenging) and the 2 PvP minigames. A lot of effort has put into those 2.
Lunatic inquisition is very fun and nice place to relax. I didn’t even expect anything like this and was happy before act 2 even. Reaper’s rumble is also nice, a bit like keg brawl but with more smacking.
So overall I’d give this event 10/10 because scavenger hunt (both parts) also took some thinking and the mad king’s realm was a pleasant surprise with lots of activity.
Thanks Arenanet.
I think one thing is clear from all the comments: in general people who like PvP and platforming were happy with this event while people who are more PvE oriented were often frustrated, especially if they don’t have a high level character. I guess the question is whether ANet is happy with this polarization of their customer base…
Now I’m looking forward to how many people ignore my “in general” qualification.
What did I learn? That these forums are a hateful, angry place…
must say i was rather annoyed you have to buy the minipack twice for all 4 minis.
thankfully i had the foresight to turn gold into gems before the prices rose and got everything i wanted from the Gemstore, others not so fortunate.
Sonic yes, many learned hard lessons about ‘gambling’
None of the items that were rewarded out of the chests were BoP so if you wanted them you could make a flat payment and get it off the BLTC.

I completely agree with this.
Not really a lesson, but I lost all faith in Anet. Which is sad because they were one of the few remaining game company’s that I trust.

You’re obviously trolling or just ignorant. Giving a gameplay advantage to certain classes in the form of speed boosts is not perfectly balanced. Preventing players from seeing their characters because someone else is standing on top of them is not perfectly balanced.
I understand you wanted to make a counter-point, show another side of the event, but all you do is undermine the legitimate points to be made about this event when you blatantly lie about balance and ignore well founded criticisms of the content.
