Kind of annoying that you can’t buy mystery tonics, is there a reason for them to be account bound? It essentially makes only artificers able to get the materials to create the chests.

There’s no alchemists in this game.

Also you get the mystery tonics by opening Black Lion Chests. 3 tonics each.

BUT , did you tested them? Cause as far as i remember they dont work on this recipe. Anet was not that silly.

Anyone with two black lion keys and two black lion chests can make a Mad King chest.

Just tested this, it does indeed work. I didn’t even know I can make tonics. Though it looks like an oversight to me.

You still need the 2 boosts though.

Yes, you still need the boosts, but those are farmable in the MK dungeon. For me the drop rate for them last night was about 1 in 3.
