Mad Memories - lvl requirement:(
I did it on my lvl 15 necro so it’s possible. He also reached lvl 17 just from traveling.
Do it as a group. ;-)
I’m looking for someone to help me with it also , but there are many new players who just can’t do it alone or don’t have high lvl friends in game atm.
Groups help immensely, whether or not you are underleveled.
Doing it solo as lvl 14. Utterly impossible to cross Gendarran safely to get the last part of Act 1.
One guy reckons he did it with a lvl 8. I call shenanigans.
You can definitely do it on a low level character. I went to the level 60 zone on a lvl 20 character, you just have to make sure you run through with other people heading the same direction and make sure there are others there if you need to fight something. If you are alone, just wait if you get in a tough spot, people will run your way. Or ask for help, people are always willing
Getting one-shot by everything? Sorry, still shenanigans. Vid or it didn’t happen.
Um, if there are others around it’s called being rezzed. Of course you’ll take some downs. But that’s why you ask for help or wait for someone to go with through the zone who can make it.
It can be a frustration but i’d advise just to take a higher level with you on the journey thus making it more possible for you.

Started act 1 at level 2, finished act 2 at level 4. Died quite a few times (10ish) but made sure I got the waypoints along the way. Waited for others and followed them in. Only difficult part was sparkfly fen and bloodtide coast.
Melee at those levels are for the most part easy to avoid, its the ranged you really need to pay attention to. Utilizing evade and mobility you will be fine.
As you can see, I didn’t even need speed from my warhorn: http://i.imgur.com/7UnWJ.jpg
If you want this and you’re low level, go get it imo. It’ll last you until your 80 personal story.

I ran down there on my level 26 warrior, it was hilarious, the mobs were running from SO FAR AWAY just to get me. I didn’t know that they had an increased aggro range on lower level players. I ran up to the door to the catacombs at Fort Cadence, and the ghosts way in the back by the cannons all charged me LOL. I had to have help in there.
The average GW 2 player is pretty helpful. Perfect strangers came from across the room to kill mobs they didn’t have to in Fort Cadence just to res my Ranger (who was under level for that zone) when I was getting her, her flaming book. So you know, you can and will get help.
I recommend just shouting out in the chat that you need someone to run you through it. I’m sure there’s someone out there sick of farming the Mad King or doing some other Halloween Event that will enjoy a change of pace.
Ran my lvl 35 friend through the mad king book things and his aggro range in the last 2 zones was insane, was a struggle keeping him alive. When we finished with the whole thing he was almost level 40, but then again we did some hearts on the way and did the meta event to take the camp back on the last part.
It’s quite difficult, but I assure you it is possible to do at a low level. Chances are people are trying to do the quest too, so let them run ahead and you follow behind.
I did act 1 at level 2 and act 2 at level 8. I’d make a video, but I don’t think I have the hard drive space for the raw video, or the upload bandwidth to get the video up in a timely manner.
I’ll give you this screenshot of the character though (now level 11):

I figured “what the heck” and did it today on a level 5 character today. I actually didn’t die either. However, that is just due to a little timing on my dodges, some smart navigation, and a whole lot of luck. There were actually quite a few lower level characters attempting this and thus a lot of distractions running around for the monsters. I could have just as easily been one of those distractions.
As less and less people do this quest, it will obviously get more difficult for lower level characters. The truth is, if appropriate level characters were not on the scene it would have just been impossible to complete.
I think the most ironic part of the journey for me was when my little level 5 character saved the day for many much higher characters, by wisely extinguishing the fires first that surround one of the ghost after everyone else died attempting to just push through them, and then resurrecting their characters once the flames were out. See.. you can make the trip AND be a hero, even at level 5. :P
