Before the build update I wasn’t able to find Magister Tassi to turn in my final books. And now, after the build, there certainly isn’t any Halloween stuff left.

If items can stay in the Black Lion, why can’t Magister Tassi stay for a little while to clear up any books that we procrastinated on?

I had the same problem. Went through a lot of trouble to get the first set of pages to get the first book for a low level alt. I go to turn them in before the end of the event and no Magister Tassi. Now I have no idea what to do with the pages. Are they even worth keeping around? Not that I want to take up that many bank spaces for a year, if they can even be turned in next Halloween event.

I was zoning into lions arch when it said i have 3 minutes till i was kicked out after just finishing the last step of the quest and poof! Game logs me out and it patches then no event. They need to at least put a turn in person for ppl who finished it and didn’t get to turn it in.

Yeah, I’m glad to see I wasn’t the only one to grab the last book as the timer was counting down. I thought I was safe until I tried to map to Lion’s Arch and the client restarted.

I totally agree, Tassi should stick around. She could criticize the Mad King Thorn actor…

Exactly the same for me… I got page XII when the Server Reboot was due in … 30 seconds… Had no time to teleport to L-A …

Devs: PLEASE, be Kind… Remove the pages in my inventory and just give me the kitten book?!

I agree though, even if the ghosts and quest has disappeared it would be nice if she sat around for a few days (Nov. 5 maybe), so people could hand in their pages if they’re sitting in their inventory.

Well I don’t think my wife would have liked me playing on our honeymoon :P. Today’s the first time I got to log in since the first night of the event, and it was broke that night.

I have excuses for why it took me so long to get the last few pages on my level-39 character, but the point is, a portion of the player base would really appreciate a way to turn in the quest items. We’re not asking for the ghosts to keep appearing or anything, just another NPC hanging around by the current event-related NPC. Could even be the same guy with an “I’ll see that these get to the right people” dialogue option.

Otherwise, I’ll have to either occupy 6 bag slots for a year and hope they’re still good for next Halloween, or trash them and give up on what turned out to be a fair bit of work for a low- to mid-level character.

You would most likely just have to wait till next year as it stands. If that was the case then those who would have needed just one more page would want special adjustments. I wonder if you will be able to just use the pages you already have, towards next years event? It would save you some time not having to re-collect the pages you already have for next year.

I got the second book. I was bored and wanted to see if I could turn it in again. So now I have all of the pages from the first book. But it wouldn’t let me as I have already turned it in once.

I’d love to be able to finish my book, but if it’s not possible, then at least some info about keeping items until next year (or not) would be great.

Actually, I wasn’t surprised that Magister Tassi was gone on November 1.
What surprised me was that it wasn’t at noon Pacific, or at midnight GMT, or midnight Pacific.
When I came home from work (around 3:30 Pacific), I assumed she would be gone when the daily achievements reset. However, I took my daughter to a Halloween festival rather than finish the quest, and when I came home at about 6:45 Pacific time, the Halloween stuff was still there. “Sweet!” I thought, though I didn’t catch the pun until later. “I guess they’ll be doing the new build around midnight Pacific, then.” And then I completed the quest with the final two pages.
Well, I say “completed,” but I was grabbing the last page in Sparkfly Fen (I had just turned level 40) when the new build crushed my dreams of getting the blazing red book to match my sylvari’s blazing red hair.

I managed to get the last page, but if I’d known it would be ending when it did, I would have either given up entirely, or I would have waited half an hour to install my new CPU cooler that arrived today. Thinking I had several hours left (because they would never push a new build at 7pm Pacific, right?), I made a foolish mistake. Now I just want to know what they’re planning for people with six pages in their inventories.

Well since the drops and the achievement are getting an overtime I don’t see why they could not give us an overtime for this as well…

People just don’t understand how software development works. It isn’t as easy as clicking a checkbox to replace the NPC.

Because I am a software developer I know exactly how it works. NPCs and Quests are modular. If you don’t have something constructive to add please go away.

3 alts all under level 10……5/6 pages of act 2…..all en route to fort cadence (1 AT fort cadence)….

in the future can we get a little bit more of an advanced warning (and, no, i dont mean an 8 hr “we’re gonna get to this soon!” post)? 3minutes wasn’t enough time for me to hire a bodyguard to at least snag a complete set on 1 alt

limited time Halloween events are over when Halloween is over!

This forum is filled with the “I waited till the last minute for the monthly achivement/halloween event and its not fair I didn’t get my reward”. It really makes me wonder what some of you were thinking.

Anet stated that Halloween would no longer be active after the next patch on the 1st of November sometime after 19:00 GMT. They could have ended it right on the dot, but it lasted at least 5 hours longer. Couple this to the fact that you had 6 days to complete act 2. I can only conclude you have no one but yourself to blame if you didn’t do it earlier when you had the time. To those that were prevented due to Sandy. That’s life you can’t have it all.

yes please brig her back for a couple of days, i was on my was to get the last page of the second book last night when the new build came up, i have 5 pages that i dont know what to do with it and i dont want to destroy them.

(also brig the ghosts that go with it so i can get my last page!)

actually i thought it was until nov 5 my low lvl alt got the first book yesterday and i was going to get the second today but i guess not lol
rl takes precedence over the game unfortunatly so i was unable to do anything til yesterday

I just got my power back last night, got all the pages for my second book, was about to waypoint back to Lion’s Arch, and then my client updated and restarted … sans Halloween.

It would be AWESOME if the Magister came back, or if another NPC could take over his book-distributing duties.
