Make Clock Tower - Soloable
Sweet baby jeebus, yes. If I have to watch one more Charr flopping about like a fish while I’m trying to get up the frickin tower I really will go mad.
As an Asuran player, I agree. I can’t see crap all. It’s horrible game design. Either remove the timer mechanic, or make it a solo instance event. Don’t think they actually ever play tested this in a group scenario.
+1. Arena Net – for next year please make the jumping puzzle a solo instance!!! I am giving up for this time around. All I can see is other people, not where I am jumping to. Of course I am going to fail, unless I try to hack the game so that I don’t see other players.

Don’t even need to make it instanced, just hide all other players within the puzzle.
You never know, it could be a limitation. Having to private instances for hundreds of thousands of players could lag the servers. Unlike personal stories, events are supposed to attract players at once, meaning more are attempting it at the same time. Since the instances contain few objects though (unless the movement is a big deal), I doubt it’d be that big of an issue.
One could also say it’s more fun with people.
Suck it up and do it. It sucks, but it is doable. I’ve done it 4 times this morning with all types of races.
I honestly understand your guys frustrations at this puzzle, because it took me around 2-3hours to finish. But i don’t agree with soloable instances because some people would just stay in their soloable instance and hack to get all 3 chest all the time(around 15-25ish ToT bags). i enjoy watching others fail/succeed. i congradulate others who do succeed, while i help give tips and pointers to those who can’t.

Another great fix would be to make the pieces that break from the wall static.
It sucks, but it is doable.
Yeah, it does suck. When something sucks to do, that makes it bad design.
I think having others in there at the same time gives it a sense of ‘rat race’.
Where the weak perish and the speedy race upwards.

I’ve never quite understood peoples issues with the Charr and Norn.
Your character is in a fixed point on your screen, you can determine your position and jump based on that and maximum jump distance.
Besides which when the ‘fat has been trimmed’ there’s only a few that make it up high.
Make this soloable, or remove timer. Or make some easy/normal/hard ways for those, who want challenge. Personally me does not feel ANY enjoyment or fun. That’s the most annoying and frustrating part of your halloween. Someone want the challenge? Make hard version of the this jumping “puzzle” with much more faster timer. And give us the easy version, please. Because you don’t have even 1 second to redo jumps, even if you jump successful, but had to spend 1-2 seconds, because lags, bunch of people jumping around, or something else – you screwed.
EVERY player should get the opportunity to get his fun. I hate events with the time’s run, i want to make this jump puzzle, and get my amount of fun, but instead of it, i should spend for a few hours, trying to, at least, see my character, in a crowd. And don’t say to me “don’t want? don’t do”, because that “puzzle” is a part of a halloween event, and it won’t stay forever, so you MUST do this “puzzle”, if you want to complete the event.
I am very angry and frustrated now, and i don’t see what so funny in jumping for a 2-3 hours.
That is personally my opinion.

I agree. My friend managed it after 2 hours, but she’s an ele with a passive speed buff, so she was always miles ahead of the pack with no need to worry about the player clustering. I have as yet to complete it.
It is part of the umbrella of Halloween events, so it should share the same difficulty as the rest of the tasks. As festive events like this are supposed to be fun and relatively easy to do by everyone. If they just wanted to add a sadistic jump puzzle to the game, they should have then, but put it under the jump puzzle section for the love of something, not under the Halloween section.

Done it about a hour on my norn. Found this topic made the smallest size Asura that i can. Made it the third time. I really have no problem with norn/charr/humans. Acually i find the puzzle easier on asura, asura is the best pvp/jumping race.
