Now i need a psychotherapist
There, there, if it makes you feel better – I am so worthless at jumping that not only did I never try the clocktower, I die just walking around in MK land.
I never even tried the tower either, but I tried to jump into the cauldron in LA for an hour and never made it.

I didn’t make the cauldron either! We should start a guild! “Crap Jumpers Anonymous”! ^.^
You just need to figure out a path. Once you figure out a path you start to realize how much time you actually have. The hardest part is the beginning, so it’s important to figure out a safe and reliable path there. Not to brag, but to prove my point, I’ve literally made it 15 times in a row without failing, due to having a set path that is reliable.
Thief – Radderic
Mesmer – Smash Kablooey
Also, turn off GW2 sound and have your own music playing in the background.. The endless NPC one liners WILL drive you crazy.

Haha! Well I don’t know if we’re succeeding in making the OP feel better, but you’ve made me feel better. So thanks!

a guy said in another post that he had to try the clocktower jumping puzzle for 15 hours before he made it… even crap jumpers can get it if you’re dedicated enough. good luck guys
Tell you the truth, that cauldron in the center of LA is 100x harder then the Mad King’s Clock tower for me. I can get the clock tower every 1 in 5 tries, finished it about 15 to 20 times now. The cauldron I have only made once and gave up on future attempts. The problem is that there is so much kitten lag in LA I just end up over running on the platforms in LA and fall.
I didn’t bother even trying this particular jumping puzzle do to the number of bugs and other issues associated with it. There is no shame whatsoever in trying and not succeeding or deciding certain aspects of the game are not for you at any given time for -any- personal reason. Please keep your perspective. This is a video game. Nothing more. “Success” here in anything amounts to…nothing. It doesn’t make you a better human being, more worthy of respect from others who do or don’t play it, it adds absolutely nothing to your real life. Failing to accomplish any of the material in any video game certainly doesn’t mean the opposite of the list above and anyone who builds their self-worth on such a flimsy and shallow foundation is eventually in for a rude awakening. Sadly there are so many who are doing exactly this. Don’t allow yourself to be one of them.
You’re value and worth come from the fact that you are alive, you are able to effect the real world around you for better or worse, you have the power to build up or tear down those you encounter and so forth. Absolutely everything else is trivial. You’re value is innate. It can never be taken away by anyone for any reason and certainly not by something as immaterial as a video game. Your value and worth are a constant no matter what others say or think. In all the history of all the universe for all time, you are absolutely unique, a one of a kind priceless work of art. Don’t give your personal power away to anyone and especially not to a pretend pixelated world in a video game.

It would be awesome if I could give you a piggy-back ride to the top of the clock tower. I enjoy re-running it. Though we may fall off once or twice in the process. Occupational hazard and all.
Don’t feel bad, I am so horrible at them I only went in to see the tower in all it’s glory then left. Once I had the achievement to add to my Halloween events I didn’t need to do it. That said it is quite nice of ANet to exclude actually doing it in order to get the achievement and shows that even though they are twisted in their designs they are still human in their beliefs.
So you cant complete the tower and thus you dont deserve to play? Not really.
There is content for everyone , problem is , people go for content not meant for them …
Just like a low lvl char can get complete mad memories , a person with “less” skill (we both know this is not true, but i will use it here since i lack a better analogy) can get to the top of the tower, but the work involved is 100 times bigger.
I’m a lousy jumper too and it took me a few hours before reaching the clocktower as well.
But it’s worth trying, since once you made it, next attempts are so much easier (lack of pressure?).
And you’ve actually learned a bit, so other jump puzzles will be easier too!
Some tips:
- watch a youtube vid to see the path
- ignore chests on the way until you’re pro
- if crappy pc, lower all settings to avoid any fps drop
- try off-hours, so less people around to block view or to wait for.
Good luck & Happy Halloween!
man u have to fnid ur personal path to follow.. and never leave it once u have found it.. anyway.. 10 hours.. man!! too much!!
let the clock win!! in every case u won’t lose anything special in the chest
I did it on 3 of my chars. Only problem i had was huge hate towards my Charr. Ppl of GW2 are racist !

I’m in! I have trouble with all jumping puzzles. But I still find them fun.
Also, turn off GW2 sound and have your own music playing in the background.. The endless NPC one liners WILL drive you crazy.
Tick, tock, the mouse ran up the clock, and time swallowed it whole – tail and all!
This one drove me insane, I swear it.
Oh, the path is not an issue. Its mistiming the jumps :P
Colin Johansen hits you for 239407889 damage
Game over
I so want to try the CT. Hopefully I get my comp back today. If I do I’ll be playing till the event comes to a complete end then go to sleep.
“psychotherapeut”
Wut.
Anyways, I’m just about to try the jump puzzle. It sounds like so much fun! I love the Wiki’s dev quote on it: “…maybe 5% of people would make it to the top.”
LOL, love ya OP.
I tried for about 20 minutes…
said, “wtf?”
Left never to return.

Hi, my name is Musty, and I suck at jumping.
Now Musty Britches since someone decided Shortbus Rider was offensive… [LoS] [NSP]
I’m one of those slow and deliberate jumpers; given time I can complete most jumping puzzles. With the water rising and explosions happening, etc. I would really need lots and lots and lots of tries before I could manage a reasonable attempt. I’ve tried it 20 or 30 times and then decided to invest time in completing my monthly achievement instead.
Is tonight the last night for the clock tower to be around?

I did the cauldron in the first jump, and the windwall (from a storyquest) easily a few times.
However i cant make the clocktower.
So dont worry
It took me about 3 hrs to beat the clock tower, and i consider myself a “poor” platformer. I can do jumping puzzles, but i hate them. The clock tower on the other hand.. I loved it.
I play an Asura, and it was frustrating for a while. The people i was on vent with at the time can verify the amount of f-bombs that came out. But there was laughter behind every one. I kept reminding myself that it’s a game, and i could leave anytime. Which i did after the first 2.5 hrs. Then i came back and finished.
my tips:
Breathe. Concentrate on breathing slowly. This helps keep the adrenaline spikes down when you make a jump you haven’t made before.
Remember your path. There are multiple ways to jump, and it’s important to remember where you jump from and where you land. Corner to corner is often the best case here.
The green ooze doesn’t kill you right away. You can jump and land on objects that are just covered by the green stuff. The arms that come up dont’ slow you down, damage you, or otherwise impede you. They’re there to throw you off your game. Don’t let them win.
Laugh about your failures. I made it almost all the way to the top twice, and then on one run managed to fall through the second set of stairs (the one with the hole in them). Silly mistakes happen.
Don’t use the keyboard to turn. This is a hard one, because not everybody is comfortable turning with a mouse. I also had to turn my rotation speed all the way up in game, and turn my mouse polling up to 2500 in order to feel comfortable. There are also a couple places during the run you can reset your hand position.
Keep running. After the first pause, and the stuff comes flying out of the tower to hang in the air, jump smart. You can take your time here, but about 3-4 jumps later, don’t let go of W (or whatever key you use to move forward). This allows you to easily outdistance the green stuff, and the other bodies. Most of the jumps can be made at full speed. And it stops you from accidentally double tapping the button, make your guy roll off the edge of the platform.
Just my tips to help out. Keep trying as long as it’s fun. Take a break when it’s not.
If you dont get it in your first 10-15 jumps, stop playing, calmdown, and get back on a few hours later and try again. You wont get it feeling fustrated.
I did it on 3 of my chars. Only problem i had was huge hate towards my Charr. Ppl of GW2 are racist !
I agree, and would like to subscribe to your newletter. I have no idea why they make it so hard for Charr.

High-five. That’s the best mentality to have about these kinds of things.
Good general tips, as well, for anyone still working on the puzzle.
Try it as an Asura when all you see are Norn and Charr butts in your face.
use the mouse to turn, take the rotation speed at the highest possible rotation and, could seem a fake, but, learn very well the point where u can take the right mouse’s position… sometimes when u turn the mouse in just one direction, happen that in ur next jump, the mouse ain’t in the right way and u turn too much or too low.. for me was the most important thing..

What, you could jump into the cauldron? OOO
