I opened my black lion chests as I played through my character a long time ago. As a result, I have a ton of tonics sitting in my bank, but no mystery tonics. Would it be possible to put a mystic forge recipe in the game to transmute the older tonics into mystery tonics, so I can then transmute them for halloween chests?

It would need to come soon I suppose, but would be very much appreciated.

I had a thread open about this. I’ll show you what I posted in the OP.

It had mostly POSITIVE feedback from the comunity…but then it got merged into the huge thread about MKC’s like every other very good detailed thread about minor aspects of the MKC’s.

I believe that everyone who gets keys always uses them (unless he knows that they will be worth more in a future event). So when players got keys before Sept 25th and used them on BLC they recieved named Tonics instead of Mystery Tonics. Was this any problem back when they updated the BLC? No. Is it one now? Yes I think so.

If you got Mystery Tonics since Sept 25th you could store them in your bank and leave them there. Now that the MKC’s are added you can use those Tonics to craft MKC’s while everyone who used their keys before Sept 25th are left out because their Tonics are named and don’t work in the recipe.

I understand that this “addition” was needed to increase the worth of keys used during the current event…but right now it favors EVERYONE who opened their chests after Sept 25th while people like me who played before that day and used all their keys instantly are left out on the fun. I’d be fine if the recipe would only work with Tonics from after this event started or something like that OR if there was a way to convert named Tonics into Mystery Tonics.

This right now is just a boot in the…behinds…of all players who used to play since release and have their bank full of named Tonics because of this.

Edit: I’m not complaining that people who wanted Halloween items get a second chance. I’m complaining that everyone who opened chests since the 25th of Sept (not Oct) gets chances while everyone who used their keys prior to that date (which is unrelated to Halloween) doesn’t.

a recipe where you can craft mystery tonics from named tonics could be a solution, 4 random tonics for a new mystery one

Even it should be proportion 1 to 1 since they both come from the same places and worthed equal ( 4 random tonics gets you 4 mystery tonics stack..)…or if Anets likes gambling…4 named tonics give you 1 to 7 mystery tonics.

I just discovered that this was the case. I know it’s completely irrational, but it completely ruined the whole event for me. I was psyched to see what I was going to get from my chests before I dived into the wild world of halloween. When I found out my tonics were useless for this… I passed quickly from feelings of betrayal to anger to annoyance to, finally, being generally peeved with the game and not wanting to play. It’s a really minor thing, but I’d really like to be able to use my old tonics for this new thing.
