Title says it all mostly. I made a poll so that maybe we can have a better feel for how well received this idea is. This is to provide a form of feedback for Anet to look at. Instead of endlessly flaming/ranting and generally being crazy, lets let the numbers speak.

Yes please. Sell your gems and turn ’em into gold so it can actually be affordable to buy/make mystic salvage kits again.

As I voted, not buying keys for this or any future event. I’m not a gambler by nature, and the low chance of getting anything neat from a chest strikes me as making it impractical to spend real money on it (and I have 1 gp to my name, so buying gems that way is not currently practical). I am also warning my guild not to bother spending their money on it. If the RNG is altered to reflect a higher drop rate, I may reconsider, but it would have to be pretty significant.

I suspect this may be somewhat skewed given the population you’re polling. The number of people browsing this forum to complain or commiserate is, judging by posts, pretty high. There’s no real way to gauge how accurate a sample this is going to be.

I’ve posted this on reddit as well. While it’s true that the venue’s are limiting in terms of the overall amount of exposure, the content and opinions are what they are. This is the Halloween event’s forum and not specific to complaints or even the cash shop. It would be difficult I think to get a better view barring some official poll on the login screen or something. I’d cross post this across the forums here, but I’m not sure that’s allowed.

I voted “You have not bought keys for the halloween skins and do not plan to for this or other holidays”, wasn’t interested from the start in this. would I buy gems for something else? yes I would, for the mini pets maybe, or upgrades (bank slots etc), but not for skins.

I opened about 20 chests so far from the event but I have not bought a single key. I have been saving I get for mission reward and just random drops for something like this since nothing in the Black Lion Chests is of any interest to me. Your poll need to include a selection where you will be opening chests but not buying keys.

Well this was an easy decision, number 2.

I find it interesting that the majority (so far) didn’t buy keys for this event and have no intention of buying keys for future events either. Also it’s almost split down the middle between people who bought keys and will do so again to people who won’t be doing so again.

That sort of option would be heavily biased and not really in relation to what this poll is about. If you have keys, it’s highly unlikely you won’t use them. This poll is more so to find out who is and isn’t buying keys in relation to obtaining holiday items.

I bought some keys and will buy some more in the next holiday event. Gambling is fun in moderation.

Haven’t bought any keys or chest and will not do so in the future.
The weapons are really great looking, but I don’t think they’re worth it.

It has nothing to do with any sort of boycott towards Arenanet, as I have purchased some inventory upgrades, and, more recently, the aviator cap, and depending on future additions, I will continue to do so.

I think you missed something in the polls. People who would have bought keys if the drop rate were higher. Option 4, includes people who have heard about the low drop rate of skins and therefore did not buy keys.

Personally the only skin so far that looks interesting is the Chainsaw and even that could have been a little bit more interesting with some green glow or dripping blood.

I don’t know if they plan more in the upcoming acts.

I don’t consider gamble boxes content. So I didn’t buy keys or ever plan to.

Well, to make that fair you’d need to present a suitable % of chance that people would agree on that is higher and also know what the base line is to begin with. That would actually be an interesting poll in and of itself.

Something along the lines of; What would be the lowest percentage of chance you would accept as fair before you decided to not gamble for these skins at the current cost.

Personally I’d say around 5%. But that’s just me.

Nearly 700 votes now and the results are starting to segregate more in the direction of buyers remorse.

I’m in the minority I guess, I know from other games that these things have slim odds, but I’d try some keys in the future if there was something I wanted (like armor skins, not town outfits).
