Sorry for the intentionally misleading title… wait no, not all that sorry, but I was wondering if my sylvari eyes changing from blue to red was an intentional part of the event, or if it’s a bug somewhere.

Attached are pictures of my regular eye colour and the red halloween-y colour respectively.

It seems to be tied around Lion’s Arch so being part of the event is likely.

Just check your drivers, lol

Someone else posted that this happened to their Charr after removing the Mad King Outfit they bought from the Gem shop – not sure if that applies to you but you’re not alone.

Suggest you submit it as a bug and see if they respond that’s its intentional.

don’t think that’s the issue, everything graphics related is up to date as far as I know

I did not have a Sylvari before the event so I have no idea if it is related to the event or not, but I made one last night. I had bright yellow eyes and a glowing red face last night, when I logged on today the red glow in my face is gone and my eyes are now all black so there may be something going on. This is my Sylvari in general where ever I am, not tied to any one single area.

Akasuki that is due to the glow effect on the sylvari. When you create a new character you can turn on and off the light by clicking the bulb next to the hide armor button. Then you see what your character looks like when it is dark. Sylvari glow in the dark and you can pick a glow colour and glow intensity (I think if you drag the slider all to the left the glow effect will not be there, never tried that myself).

haha, you are right I just looked at my sylvari now that it’s night and indeed it is glowing red with yellow eyes. thank you for the clarification, was somthing I did not know.

Well can’t confirm for you since my Sylvari has always had red eyes. They are still red in the event so I’d agree you have a graphics issue.

Again, I doubt this is a graphics issue because I very recently updated my drivers, and when entering LA, it takes a short while for my eyes to change.

It is possible that it is a graphics issue somewhere, possibly caused by using a default value for eye colour on a single character model (I say single because I don’t recall seeing other characters get red eyes), but that seems to stretch it a little.

This doesn’t mean I dislike it, I quite enjoy the effect and kinda hope it sticks around, perhaps my sylvari has a dark side.

Further note: A friend reports seeing my character’s eyes as red while his remained their normal brown, either we’ve both got the same graphics issue and it only affects sylvari, or the eyes are supposed to turn red.
