Simple solution
Indeed, that would be the best solution. I’d also wish the anti-farming didn’t work on chests personally. Because it means I loot 1 chest every 10 to 20 minutes instead of 100 in 30 seconds. <.<
You underestimate the need to complain for certain people. If such odds were posted, they would continue crying about item X only having a drop rate of percentage X.
It’s not about blame. It’s about something they want but don’t get right away.

The people complaining now have an actual problem, your scenario would have much less people complaining, and there would be no valid argument for them to fall on. With this, there is actual damage that has been done, and the people who feel they have been mistreated have a valid argument as to why.
I gave the forums a wide berth while this event started as I expected a whole lot of complaining.. now I see the fallout, and well…
Do these people never think?
I used to buy a lot of ccg when I was younger and on each pack, the approx odds of pulling a special card where clearly stated. OP is perfectly right, all this could have been avoided by simply stating ‘The approx odds of a BLC containing a Halloween skin is 1/25’
Odds aren’t cumulative, which means even if the odds were 1/50 you still might end up with nothing after 200.

Well of course but we all know that. Why people are complaining is that when they are opening 200 BLC they dont know if they were just unlucky or the drop rate is low. Give them the information and then if they still complain its their own fault and they knew the odds.
Personally I just buy the gem store items and give the boxes a miss when I dont know the odds. I really like the gambling mechanic, same as the chest rolls in warhammer, adds abit of interest to open boring boxes. Any gambling does need the odds though or how do you know if you were lucky or not.

True. I don’t think anyone would disagree. This is not blackjack where the odds go up and down per hand. It’s more of a roulette where the odds are independent of previous attempts. Being able to read the odds of winning is required here in the states, so we’re trained that way. This is the internet though, so all we can do is be loud in the hopes that we’re heard.
I will skip out on luck based items entirely. I can tolerate them when it’s available year round, but not when they’re limited time deals.
