I think Anet should have use the TF2 item system in holiday events. Make a set of skins with normal drop rate, such as 10% or something like that. Then make a set of the same skins with different color and make them rare.

This way people can still win the “lottery” in those chests, and normal players can get the more common skins.

This would calm people down.

No, i got almost all the rare skins in this holiday already, so i am not “crying” i didn’t get the stuffs i want. The problem is that I understand people who spent 50 bucks+ and got almost nothing to show for.. This, no matter how you look at it, would only discourage people in the future.

it’s not that hard.. a set for common people, and one set with different color for lottery. Win/win for everyone….

it doesn’t have to be different color… Take the greatsaw for example, you can make a model without the engine and animation, and make it more common.

The thing is this is a game, not a casino. When people spend certain amount of money, they would expect to have something in return to show for….

And thats where people are doing it wrong. Stop expecting things to be exactly how you want it.

They kind of tried this already? The are the craftable weapons (arachnophobia, the crossing, grinning shield) which cost a fortune, then the black lion’s skins expect those cost 40g+ as well because the chances are too low. They should have kept the craftable ones as rare and hard to get and the others for available for everyone.

It doesn’t have to be a different color, you can have the rare ones to have an aura or something, or the bow to shoot rainbows, but the non rare ones to not shoot rainbows.
