So apparently these two Runes are not discoverable, only the Minor rune is discoverable.

A WARNING!!

I wasted around 2 gold getting the ingredients for the Superior Rune only to find that I was missing the recipie and I couldn’t “discover” the item even though I had all the ingredients.

To top it off I put the two most expensive parts into the discovery and found that I could discover something with those two pieces (I figured I had to discover that first) so I “discovered” the two items and it made some other rune… UGH… so now even if I find the recipie for the Superior Rune of the Mad King… I would still have to rebuy the two most expensive items in the recipie… Darn it!!! (edit: sorry for the foul language, I edited it… lol)

Major Rune recipe is on the TP for under 3 silver, the Superior Rune recipe was going for just over 2 gold.

You can make the recipe using the Mystic Forge (which is also true for the Gift recipes for the weapons – you have to discover them via the Mystic forge before you can craft them). So either do that or buy it off the TP.

Thanks for the replies, now I don’t have to scour the net on how to get the recipe but either way I already used the Orichalcum and the Onyx Lodestone to make a Rune of the Earth by accident (thinking I needed to discover what those two made first) when I put it into the armorsmith “discovery”… thus effectively wasting all the money I spent buying that Onyx Lodestone…

bleh… I spent 3 days trying to get some crafts sold on the market to get the gold I used to buy that lodestone and those fangs and now poof… because I wanted to craft that stupid rune, I’m left with very little money…

This leaves a bitter taste in my mouth regarding this Halloween event…

I believe the superior mad king rune is only available from ToT drop, I’m sorry to hear that you went through all that and couldnt get what you wanted, next time you definitely need to look up as much info as you can to be sure that the item you want is indeed gotten that way :p

Situations like these occur all to frequently for people and it was all only a matter of looking info until you were absolutely sure that thats how it is done s_s
