I just wanted to say thanks to Anet for the awesome Halloween events so far (and totally looking forward to act3/4). I know a lot of people have said some awful things (and even I get frustrated and think them :P), but so far this Halloween in-game event has been the best I’ve ever seen in an mmo.

Thank you all for working so hard and making such an awesomely fun event for us. I have no clue if any of you guys at Anet will see this post, but I hope you know there are plenty of people playing who love what you’ve done and love the game.

I may not agree with every decision, there are certainly some things I haven’t enjoyed, but GW2 is one of the best games I’ve ever played and I can’t wait to see what you guys do from here. I know in time things will be made right.

I’m probably the worst jumper out there, seriously, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Undoubtedly this has been the most enjoyable festival-style event of any mmo I have played. Frankly, I stopped participating in others long ago out of boredom. Way to do it right ANet!

This is so far one of the best halloween events in any game I have ever played. Even with minor hiccups, it has been a blast.

Agreed. Even though it has been a bit buggy and jumping puzzle was frustrating at first, but I did eventually get it. I have truly enjoyed the event so far and can’t wait to see more.

I feel like you’ve put a lot more effort into one holiday so far that I have seem in most MMOs I have played. Can’t wait for other holidays.

Also, for prolonging the event by breaking it down into acts is great. Give enough for people to do for a few days without totally taking away from their daily schedule.

Big thank you! Very fun event so far, the jumping puzzle is frustrating, but once you get through it you feel like a million bucks! The zombie pvp event is by far my favourite part so far but am excited to see what 12 PM PST will bring!

Thank you ArenaNet! There is so much QQ on this subforum that really is just silly. Very few have really any merit.

The first two acts have been loads of fun, and there’s so much stuff too. This is an awesome event.

And there’s still Acts 3 and 4 to go! Argh there isn’t enough time to do everything to my heart’s content!!

I just wanted to add my thanks as well. The event has been a lot fun. The graphics are outstanding. I like that the event includes various types of activities for just about every type of player. Keep on rocking ArenaNet!

It’s correct to open a thread alsot to thank Anet, and not just complain and whining.

Persoanlly, this Halloween event is the best event I’ve ever experienced in any MMORPG (I played Aion, Rift and WoW during this holiday, and no one had good content put in it).

So.. Thanks Arenanet! Keep it up, now I can’t wait for Christmas period ^^

Yes, thank you, ArenaNet! This Halloween event has had an absolutely ludicrous amount of effort put into it and it oozes quality IN ADDITION to quantity.

The clocktower is a masterpiece, the scavenger hunt is fun and the minigames are awesome.

let me add my thanks also, this has been a great event. with something for everyone. love and hate the tower but now i can never say that the other jump puzzles are hard.

Yes, big props and huge thanks for all of the hard work and serious dedication to a memorable gameplay experience! Like OP said, while I may not necessarily agree with everything, I understand my opinion does not reflect those of the community at large and I can seriously appreciate the thought and care you guys have put into this.

kittening agree 100%. Thank you very much for this great event. I never expected that a game in which we don’t pay a subscription to, would have such excellent quality holiday events. It’s a lotta fun, keep up the good work!

Act 1 was not so great but Act 2 with the Mad King’s Realm was really something (and still is). While I am not at all happy about the Halloween BLC lottery the new content you dished out is great and more than outweighs that in my opinion.

I just wanted to add an additional thank you. Hands down the most well thought out and the most fleshed out holiday event ever. Even the small slights like the BLC and the rare chance for skins was quickly rectified, and I for one am blown away by the amount of time and effort put into a simple holiday. The player vs player mods are incredible. The art, the story, the flavor have all been top notch.

Playing as a last standing villager in the Lunatic Inquisition was some of the most thrilling and heart racing gaming I’ve had in forever. And Rumbler’s Reaper was fresh and fun and I loved the environmental mechanics. I kind of wish these two mods wouldn’t go away after the holiday. The Clock Tower made me want to yell at my monitor when I missed the final jump before I eventually completed it. The costumes, the crafting, costume brawl: I could go on and on but I think even I’m sounding like an Anet plant. =)

This praise comes from a generally harsh critic of gaming. In closing, keep up the great work. Sincerely excited for the final acts.

Thank you, ANet, for this amazing Hallow’een event. There is an incredible amount of content when compared to other MMO festivals and all of it is buckets of fun.

Admittedly I got frustrated at the Clocktower as well, however, when i started getting past the first 15-20 seconds of it I found it quite enjoyable. It took me many hours and many more attempts but I got there in the end and I loved it.

As for the Acts, these are brilliant. They give the whole festival a sense of progression rather than a static thing that you do once then never return. I quite enjoyed the scavenger hunt as I like riddles, my only gripe is the reward. Don’t get me wrong, it looks cool but who wears a book on their back? XD It would make a great Focus skin but of course not everyone can use Foci, I don’t know what a better idea would have been, just saying. :P

With regards to the gem store, I am mostly ok with the way it was done. Being the main funding for the development of the game then there absolutely should be festival cosmetics exclusive to it. I bought the Mad King costume and 2 sets of minis (so I could get the Forge one) and I don’t regret that. I do kind of regret buying as many keys as I did and in future I feel any festival items from the BLCs should have a better drop rate. I’m not asking for 50% but is 10-15% really too high a chance to ask for?

No, it wasn’t perfect, but this is the first event we’ve got so there was going to be a couple of snags as ANet found out what works and what doesn’t. All in all though, it has been (for me) a truly amazing event worth every second I have spent enjoying it.

Again, thanks ANet and I hope yous continue to deliver such high quality events. I look forward to Wintersday :P

I gotta give my props to ANet as well. You have done an awesome job with this game and the Haloween event is outstanding. Best MMO to date! I hope this leval of exellence continues long into the future (or at least till GW3)

Although the Clock Tower really sucked to do IMO. I LOVE the event. I love Halloween and everything to do with it. Coming from a veteran GW1 player, this event beats those hands down. The flaming book looks awesome and I love you made it transmutable. Thanks so much for all your hard work guys!!!! Keep it up! <3

After having experienced the MKT fight, again I have to say thank you Anet. Whiners and moaners /ignored, can’t read and complaining about issues with something that hasn’t been out for more than 20 min.

Awesome fight (finally got to fight MKT, something I’ve wanted to do since gw1) and lootz for a fast, easy, fun fight.

Anet – keep doing what you’re doing. I know you are working hard to fix the issues and so do many of us. We are behind you.

Halloween events in other games will never be as epic as this.

Adding my thanks, too. I am a newbie mmo gamer. I was able to join a group and though I kept getting (can’t say for spoilers), I still had a great time and finished the dungeon. Thanks for my group, too, for putting up with my ignorance.

I am really enjoying this event, but that might be because I’m not concerned with getting all the loot or finding all the secrets. Just enjoying the seasonal fun in a casual way. :-)
