Hey guys, Sorry to make a simple post about this but I have seen so many different posts about this shield. This will be my first attempt to make a legendary skin
and I am wondering the following things:

How many items I need to make it.

How much candy corn I need?

Any other timed exclusive holiday ingredients I need in order to make it.

Also just to clarify you can create this shield any time of the year, as long as you have the necessary items right?

Go ahead and prepare yourself to spend about 400g on it.

250 candy corn for the recipe, 2000 candy corn for the Sigils. Costs around 250-350g for all the items total.

Total cost of crafting The Mad Moon:

Recipe to Gift of the Moon gotten at the Mystic forge:
250 Candy Corn
100 Chattering Skulls
10 Crystalline Dust
40 Elonian Wine

Recipe itself including:
538 Orichalcum Ore
100 Corrupted Lodestones
30 Ancient Wood Logs
25 Globs of Ecto
5 Fine Crafting
1 Gift of Thorns (500 TA Tokens)

Craftable – There are a number of weapons that can be crafted from materials that come from Halloween content. They are exotic and they have their own stats. You can craft these at any time of the year, but there are certain components that will only drop during Halloween.

The recipe above is not correct – it was made while we were still trying to figure out the final step in the crafting (getting from the Gift to the final crafted item). The reddit page has been updated: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/11ygfm/crafting_the_halloween_exotics/

You do NOT need:

30 Ancient Wood Logs
5 Fine Crafting Materials

You DO need, in addition to the stuff for the Gift:
1 Eldritch Scroll
100 Mystic Coins
20 Superior Sigil of the Night

Each Superior Sigil of the Night requires:
100 Candy Corn
1 Orichalcum Ingot
1 Lodestone (Type depends on if you have an artificer, weaponsmith or huntsman make the sigil)
1 Glob of Ectoplasm

The Recipe for the Superior Sigil of the Night appears to be a random drop from ToT bags.

So, you do only need Skulls and Candy – but you need 2250 Candy and 100 Skulls.
