The most frustrating game content ever
took me 6 hours
did it
felt worth it
it’s not a requirement so why put yourself through something you hate. The reality is not everything should be a steamroll, content loses it’s worth of accomplishment.
remember it’s an “achievement” not a “hand out”

Playing a game in general is not a requirement – or posting on the forum.
Remember this is part of a holiday event which should be easy fun and rewarding.
On the other hand this is an MMO and if I have a problem with an achievement I can ask a friend or my guild for help. But here – there is no way to get help with this.
Furthermore other player make it even more difficult – as a distraction or blocking vision.

It would be nice if the tower put you in your own instance. At least then people would stop blaming the norn and charr around them for their own shortcomings, and more importantly, we wouldn’t have to wait for everyone to finish in order to start again.
Yes the tower is extremely frustrating, but if you don’t find it fun then don’t do it. I’m glad it’s not a handout, and its completion is not required for any other part of the event.

Why exactly should this be ‘easy’ ‘fun’ and ‘rewarding’?
I never signed up for easy, fun is relative, and rewarding is in the eye of the beholder.
I had fun even though it took me 4 or 5 hours before i managed to complete the clocktower. Sure I put it down in frustration the first night, then came back to it the next day and beat it within an hour (with some help from friends). Then beat it 11 more times on multiple different characters.
It was rewarding, all 4 of my characters have the boots, I have the achievement. I don’t need anymore reward than that.
I felt like I accomplished something, and the challenge was the most fun i’ve had in a video game in ages.
Easy is generally antonymous to reward in either case… so I don’t understand your position.
Though I have to agree completely that it should have been a solo or small group thing..
or if everyone had their own timer, so you could wait for some one to get a little ways ahead before starting your own.
and lastly.. its an ‘achievement’ meaning you have to achieve something. I suppose its the fault of the achievement system in most games, so many stupid achievements handed to you on a platter that they don’t mean anything… but this one does, this clocktower achievement is worth more than most of the achievements I’ve gotten simply because I had to work, learn, and become BETTER.

I love this argument, the “I have nothing substantial to respond with” argument.

To the point though, I bolded where I believe you and many others have flawed mentalities. It begs the question of who decides what holiday events should be about? Should every holiday just be a shower of gear and easy achievements? Should the holiday events fit the theme of said holiday or always be a generic goodie bag of easymode nonsense to indulge in?
Just because it’s a holiday, IMO, doesn’t mean we should get a bunch of faceroll content and be happy with it. Out of all the events that were added for Halloween, there was one event that presented any challenge whatsoever, I personally don’t see the problem in that. If the majority of the events released were that difficult, I’d probably manage, but I would easily recognize that it was unfair for the more casual gamer.
The point of all this is that there was a single event that wasn’t tailored to your specific standard (too easy or too hard) of content. It’s not a big deal, I know it’s a cliché argument but it’s the simplest and most direct, if you don’t enjoy it then don’t do it. :\

The Clock Tower is the most frustrating game content ever (besides the bot plague bonus )
I have spend more than 12 hours trying to finish it with no success .
90% of the time standing still wasting time and waiting for the progress bar to fill up – meanwhile eating up remaining time on my gem shop speed booster. Which did not help anyway. It made me hate every player who is Norn or Charr .
Was this designed with hardcore masochists in mind ? Certainly not for holiday event fun.
… Bad Memoirs: GW 2 Halloween 2012
So you hate norn and charr characters for something they had absolutely no control over? You do realize the sight blocking problem affects them as well, right? I should know I have one.
My first thoughts after about 10 failed attempts was that they need to make it a solo instance. But about half an hour later I had it finished and I didn’t blame anyone or anything for my failures because I saw that it is actually really pretty easy.
You should try to do the same.
Why be so negative about the whole event just because you can’t beat only 1 specific part of it that isn’t even required for the meta achievement?
I liked it a lot that there was something that actually was a bit of a challenge to complete among the easymode event stuffs. If you develop all parts of an event so that really everybody can do it by targeting only the lowest common denominator, a large part of the playerbase will be terribly bored and stop playing it after a couple of hours at most. The other way around if you develop for only the most skilled hardcore gamers, a large part of the player base will be highly frustrated.
That’s why there needs to be a balance, some elements easy, others challenging but still doable. And folks need to accept that there’ll always be some part that they either find too boring or too challenging to complete and choose to skip that particular part if it bothers them that much.

Why why in the worl should it be easy just because its a haliday it was only a small part of the haliday. And you may not have thought it was fun but many of us did.
If you couldn’t do it this year hopefully it will be back next your so people can get better at genaraly jumping puzzles and go for it again
Every one has the exact same opertunity to pass it as i did
But i’m better then you :P ((just not with spelling >_> ))
