are you using a basic, or fine, transmutation stone to transmute the book look onto your 80 baack item?

This is why you’re getting that error OP.
Wrong. I’ve seen the same upgrades on other people’s books. So this is a bug.

What kind of upgrades can be put into this book? I’ve tried various level upgrades and none will fit

Did you try to put upgrade of the appropriate level? The book level is 0, so you can only put those +4 ones in it.

Nevermind I figured this out. You have to transmute the old items stats and then the upgrade in order for it to work.
So how do you transmute the new book?
