Guild Wars 2

Over on the http://www.guildwarsinsider.com/ website, some of the top stories are about things like “Reaper’s Rumble,” and “Lunatic Inquisition,” and the “Mad Realm,” from which you can enter one (or both?) of these.

What is all of this stuff? I can’t find anything about any of it anywhere, such as the simple question… what is the Mad Realm, where do you go to get there, etc.

Any help?

As long as it’s not something that’s already out and I just have no idea what it is.

Go find a haunted door in Queensdale, Kessex or Gendarran and your question will be answered.

People kinda expect to much to be fed directly to them. A few minutes in the game looking at your mail, the clues from your act 1 item and just being observant would lead you to where you want to be. In the end… just play and you will stumble into all kinda fun stuff.

This is a game, some people have more time and experience in other MMOs than others. Some have limited play time and want to be able to get into the action without wasting hours.

I personally find it too dificult to figure out what to do. It took me quite a while to figure out how to do the costume brawl properly. I was trying to fight in rented gear in the beginning. LOL.

The issue is casual vs hardcore players. It is too difficult for casual players and perhaps very easy for hardcore players.

I wouldn’t consider my self casual – I play a great deal, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to be able to stumble across every fact about a weeklong event before its over.

For instance, I now know that you can somehow enter haunted doors, but having tried several times I am not sure how.

You mean the trick or treat doors that pop up all over the world? Yeah I’ve been wondering myself. 90% of the time I trick or treat and nothing happens, not even some kind of snarky remark such as “get lost we’re out of candy” . 10% of the time some event happens. Why such a low rate?

During act 1, and I assume still for act 2 and beyond, they did one of three things: a loot bag tossed out (looked like a corpse is), a random halloween theme enemy jumps out, or a halloween DE begins with a bunch of enemies to kill.

Act 1:
- Ghost search: talk to the NPC in Lion’s Arch near the cauldron to get a ghost radar. Use it here to find the first ghost and clues about where to find the rest.
- Pumpkin carving: just click on pumpkins around the world to get an achievement. Talk to carver masters (there’s one in LA) to get a title.
- Haunted doors: there are doors in several beginner zones. They spawn at random locations pretty fast. You’ll see them from faaaar away, they glow green. Open them to get random stuff: candy bags, monsters, events etc.

Act 2:
- New ghosts to look for
- Enter the Mad King realm. I don’t know all about it but you can enter it through haunted doors in the world. Maybe there’s a NPC who can teleport you in LA for easier access.
Inside the ream there are 4 things:
- Labyrinth: the zone you spawn in. Just bash monsters, open doors for events, there’s a big boss in the middle sometimes. You can get chests with a LOT of loots.
At the entrance of the Labyrinth there’s a NPC you can talk to enter:
-Lunatic Inquisition: same map as the Laby. It’s some kind of silly PvP mode where you can either be a villager or a ghost. When villager, you will be unarmed and need to survive the ghosts. Pick up items on the ground to gain new actions. As a ghost, you need to kill villagers, you have several skills and can also pick up items for a new skill.
- Clock Tower: a crazy-hard jump puzzle. The floor is now lava, RUN!
- Reaper’s Rumble: currently buggued. Apparently you can also enter that from LA, making me assume you can also enter the other modes from here.

Act 3:
- Not yet revealed. Expect some kind of group event boss battle against the Mad King
