Video Proof of "Mad King's Tower" random reset glitch
Surprised no one has commented on experiencing the glitch.
Some have in other threads.
Some think they are dying, some that the fog catches up with them.
If you die, you are sent back to the waiting room.
Did you get downed penalty?
I can also confirm this glitch. Got this 3 or 4 times while running up, only difference between them being that half of them the camera was zoomed all the way in.
In every case, I was really far from the green ooze.
Also happened about 4 times when jumping into the broken clock face at the end. I would jump, get into a loading screen after hearing the shattering of glass and then sometimes I was instantly booted to the start of the puzzle (waiting room) or get a half-a-second glimpse of my character in the tower.
happens to everyone in my party once in a while, its extremely annoying, i make a good jump but BAM back to the start?!
This jumping puzzle is full of glitches, mist hitbox when you are nowhere near it, sometimes i get teleported into NOWHERE land where i can swim into the void or watch spin and spin a huge building.
ive been here 3hrs and the mist glitch along with nowhere land its pretty discouraging.

YEAH i just got glitched there too! the puzzle is very fun but all these glitches/bugs makes it impossible along with my normal failures, once i nearly got to the end and BAM teleport back to the start… how is that fair?
I have already reported this issue in game, from my trials into the matter, it appears that if you teleport when the middle of the face of the glass is before the middle of the steps (basically when the clock hasn’t rotated enough and you jump fairly early) you will get kicked out. Time your jumps later and you won’t get teleported.
Edit: It seems that was a red herring and the box that ports you to the winning area isn’t catching people.
FURTHER EDITS!: So it is a matter of the region not catching people in time. The best way to mitigate this for now is to jump off the platform very close to the edge in order to get the most contact time with the region. That will allow you to get to the end.

I actually “died” a couple of times on this. Usually when I was on the last jump into the clock face and I would hit the invisible wall and just fall. If I fell anywhere else in the puzzle I wouldn’t go to downed state. But at that particular spot always had the downed debuff. I ended up having to repair after that as well. So at one point I must of actually died. :/
I did have one occasion also that when I waited till super late to jump into the clock face (green mist was pretty much all around me). And I just kept falling and falling and it reloaded to me falling endlessly (did this like 3 or 4 times) till it ported me to the second platform on a new run. The one you pause on waiting for the rest of the platforms to form. Crazy glitch that was.
As for your particular glitch. That happened to me the first time I got that far. I assumed I was too slow and the mist got me. After that I avoided the cogwheel and just waited for the platform to form. Then I never got grabbed or reset there.

I have lost health somehow quiet a few times as well. Not enough to die, but I could see how some people with no armor on (they say it helps to see) or low level characters would.
keeps happening to me. another issue i get is a slow down, and i have witnesses that say i was on a completely different place than my screen showed me when either the random resets or the slowdowns.
in other words, fix the lag.
I get teleported back to the waiting room about 20% of the times when jumping down from the “end of the line” beam to the platform with the chest. The hands (that are supposed to come out of the green goo) flash for a second in mid air, and I’m teleported back to the room, without even landing on the plaform (which is, itself, well above the level of the green goo at that point).
One time I got teleported back to the beginning, the very first platform…underneath the mist.
I tend to get teleported back to the beginning if I jump into the teeth on the upright cog just before the two beams.
I was getting this problem quite a bit. It made something that was challenging literally unfair. Luckily I beat it after about 2 hours.
I got a little bit of a different glitch. I was a little bit after that first paused platform with a group. Suddenly it acted like I got caught in the mist, and tried to warp me back. But I guess it then realized, no, I didn’t get caught in the mist and sent me back to where I was.
But then the mist was already above me, and didn’t halt my progress. My quest thing was gone, and I was free to jump to my hearts desire.
Unfortunately, at the point where you have to jump down and then more platforms spawn, well, the platforms wouldn’t spawn, so I was stuck. Had to jump off to restart.
That is not a glitch, you were “reset” because you were too slow and by the time you landed on the platform the goo was already there.
I can assure you it isn’t a glitch. You were too slow upon arriving on the platform. I would know as I farm this puzzle for the tot bags.
