So, quick question…

When I go to buy The Crossing or the Arachnophobia bow, it shows ‘4 hours’.

Does this mean that if I buy it, it will only last 4 hours and I can’t keep using it through the year?

yes 4 hours, those are cheap version for people to try. Crafted ones are permanent but much much more costly ( legendary level costly almost )

Yes. To make a permanent version, you have to craft the recipe for the gift for that specific weapon, craft the gift and then combine the gift with 3 other items to make the permanent version of the weapon.

By the way, it’s cheaper to just buy loads of the 4hr weapon than to buy the permanent itself.

You only need 730 of them to last until next halloween (presuming you play on average 8 hours a day). That’s only 43g80s for an entire years worth of the weapon.

Compare that to the cost of 300g+ for the perma skins.

And by the way the timer doesn’t go down unless it’s in your inventory afaik.

LOL good point Space, but buying 730, won’t the timer ( on all 730 ) start as soon as you get them? The merchants will not sell these anymore after the 1st

Sorry but those weapons are far less costly than the legendaries, you don’t need 1.2M karma nor a large amount of skill points.

So, my next question is: when does the 4 hour countdown start?

When I buy it?
When I equip it?
When I get it in a trade (don’t know if you can trade them)

Kind of feel let down in that I could easily obtain a Gingerbread Shield or Candy Cane Sword and use it all year round in GW1. Looking at my current GW2 playing habits, it doesn’t feel like I’m going to be carrying anything beyond a small set of barely visible horns away from this event. Shame, because I love GW holidays.

Just bought the temporary staff for 6 sp last night. It looks neat, but not that neat. I don’t get the idea that we’d want to work that hard for this stuff.
