What is the level range of the full event?
Hey Space,
I doubt anet will give a response on specifics until after each act is unveiled… judging from the look of it I’d gather that there will be parts that span the entire level range with the Mad king finale being or having some lvl 80 component.
I would suggest if you want to run the Act 1 segment, go with a guild group and effectively get body guarded, as you can do the entire scavenger hunt out of combat and would only need to worry about the last page and any random encounters. (also having weapon/skill setup with protective skills and a run boon/skill would also be beneficial).
I worked with a couple others to bring a level 5 player (friends young kid) to get through to the last page and he was able to complete the chain, died a few times out of bad luck and AOE’s but it is doable (and he leveled a few times in the process).
As someone who hasn’t even finished his first week here (just hit L15 on my only character this evening), there are definitely things I’m doing just fine.
→ Pumpkin carving achievement. More of an exploration thing, since its given me an impetus to look around the other 1-15 areas. Found a pumpkin 1/3 into Metrica, which was a nice surprise.
→ Collecting candy corn from low-level mining nodes. Gives XP from the harvesting aspect and the corn you’re getting now can be used for lower-level events or sold later if you need coin.
I may do some of the ToT scanning over the weekend as well. We’ll see how my time pans out.

I like to view MMOs through the lazy eye of a Systems Admin, and the critical eye of a
Project Manager. You’ve been warned. ;-)
I did scavenger hunt on a level 5 sylvari necro was level 7 by the time I got last page no way points no map uncovered solo. Picked up way points on the way died 3 times. It’s not that bad just watch where you are running and look out for ranged mobs they will one shot you and its harder to get away from them.
Yeah, I kinda fear that event will be for high-level players.
I started playing just recently and didn’t even knew enough stuff about the world to actually solve last clue myself. And when I looked up that in the wiki I had to run all the way to a 30+ lvl location. I’ve managed to get it, thanks to all the other players around but this is still not good.
I hope further acts won’t increase level range even higher as it will make new players to feel left out.
Thanks guys. Yeah it’s not that big of a deal to me if it does go into the higher levels. I was just wondering. I can still do other parts of the event if it does.
I’ve died twice now in GF trying to get to the event location. I leveled up a couple levels today though so I think I might have an easier time getting to it.
Not sure on the highest level, but the ANet devs stated that there is no only level 80 content in the event.
I’d hope that they planned ahead and made the final event instance a scaled up and down instance a la WvW maps. I guess we’ll see soon.
Considering the Halloween achievements mention something about “entering the Mad Realm”, I think it’s safe to say that the truly high level content will take place in an alternate/instanced realm similar to WvW where players will be scaled up appropriately. Running around in Kessex Hills/Gendarren Fields can be tough if you’re a low level character, but it’s possible to reach the area in Kessex Hills without doing any fighting, and you can ask in Map chat for help with the Gendarren Fields memoir (it’s what I did, and several people showed up to help within a minute).
There won’t be “only high lvl” stuff going on. ANet has already stated that they want the event to be accessible. They also dropped the hint of “remember we’re able to upscale you as needed as well” (paraphrased). So you shouldn’t worry to much over it.
and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.”
