Witch Costume Disappointment
so nothing to do with the costume itself, you’re just moaning about having to move it between character
you poor thing
i wish that was my biggest issue
Probably the same reason buying a new bag slot doesn’t give all your characters a new bag slot.
Well, no need to be rude. And the bag comparison doesn’t work because it’s not the same kind of item. I guess I’m spoiled by City of Heroes where a global unlock is truly global – I have it on all of my characters without the need to ferry it back and forth. For this particular item, there isn’t any reason why that couldn’t be the case, rather than have Sisterhood of the Traveling Witch Costume which fits my Norn, my Charr, and my Asura just the same.

I think you’re thinking about it in the wrong way.
The Witch’s Costume is not an unlock. It is an item; just like a sword or a shield.
I only pay for unlockables that are permanently available for my account.
So, well, it’s not that I’m disappointed. It’s that they are not even in my radar.
If I can’t get it as an unlock that I can recreate indefinitely like the HoM skins, then I simply won’t pay for it.
But if it’s unlockable, then I’ll get not just one, I’ll get them all, like I got all GW1 costumes, PvP item unlocks, pet unlocks, campaigns, BMP, storage slots and upgrades like the GotY and Anniversay.
The only things my GW1 account has missing is the Prophecies and Factions pre-order, because I arrived late to the party, and the PvP access pack and skill unlocks, because I already had that from the PvE campaigns.
It’ll be great if there was at least an alternate version. Pay a little to get them as items, pay more to get them as unlocks.
But only items? Heh. No way. They do not exist for me.

Well I’m happy enough atleast my other characters are able to wear it !
That makes it acceptable.
I wouldn’t mind a costume maker npc at some point though like in GW cause the fact they take away space could be annoying.
It’s a fair complaint.
GW1 had a costume NPC you’d just talk to and get your costumes on demand when you wanted them. This does feel like a bit of a step back in that regard.
Hopefully they’ll change how it works in GW2 to a similar method GW1 had.
If I recall, the costume and hat makers didn’t come until way down the line. Maybe in a meeting at some point they will re-come to the realization as to why they needed them to begin with.
I guess one could form the conspiracy that they take up slots because people don’t want to throw away things they paid money for. So costumes will eventually drive people to buy storage space to prevent having to trash their holiday outfits.
That does seem a bit sinister for Anet. Even after the whole BLC Halloween snafu. Just playing devils advocate before it comes up anyways.
But yes /cosigned on wanting costume and hat makers. At least they are account bound.
