endless spawn haunted door
Same thing happening on Sanctum of Rall at the Northfields waypoint in Gendarren Fields, has to be a broken one
I noticed this too, but not until after I’d used it for 45 seconds did I realize it was a bug, now I’m afraid of being banned. Half of my guild was there too apparently (the one in Queensdale.
Now I’m afraid.
There’s one on JQ in Shaemoor Fields We worked on it for about a minute and realized something was wrong and stopped. I reported the bug with a screencap but I’ve got the same fear now Solirus >.<
i just left because i thought it would just keep on going. i dunno, the whole event is a bit confusing. not sure what i am doing anywhere. looks cool though
Can anyone confirm they’re supposed to close? These events are really confusing with no instructions. This is the first haunted door I’ve seen, so I don’t know how they’re supposed to behave.
nvm, just found another door and was able to close, so answered my own question… Bug reported.
So this is a confirmed bug then? If it is then geez, they should take the server down and hotfix or something. I was there for a few mins asking people what the heck was going on and nobody knew if it was a glitch or not- it is the first door you run into after leaving LA after all.
So many skeletons! Everyone around Gendarren Fields joined in until our server decided it had enough, lasted a good hour and a half. I really wish Orr stopped its skeleton production just for a little bit.
Regardless, the battle of Applenook shall not go unanswered.
Yeah, I kind of want to know if it’s a bug too, considering it’s the first door you run into after leaving LA – wasn’t until some time later that I saw one that actually closed. And then I found another one that I couldn’t open or close, so… confused here.
Yeah they are obviously bugged so they are just basically farm spots for now, im sure they will be fixed tomorow though
The ones that seem to be “stuck” open with nothing happening reset after several minutes. As for the bugged ones, I’ve seen three of them already. Candy corn value just plummeted.
An arenanet employee near a door told me they are not supposed to be neverending after I asked him, so yep, stay away.
Should be fixed soon.
Eeeh, yeah, very first door I came across was right outside LA and I did it for a few minutes expecting the event to end and it to close or something. =/ Please be gentle with that banhammer.
That said the doors that work correctly are a very fun little thing.

Candy corn needs to be deleted of trading post, or there no longer needs to be a reason to farm them from nodes, because by tomorrow they will all be 1 copper each, and no use farming them, if you can just buy a never ending supply for nothing.

^^ This was the first door I was able to fight at and thought it was working as intended. I was at that door spawn quite awhile and didn’t realize it was a bug until I stumbled upon this post. Didn’t really score much loot out of it. The mob at the door was huge and I’m running on a memser…just couldn’t get nearly enough burst damage in to qualify for much. :p

Perhaps. But consider this. Candy corn will only be available through Halloween. But you can use it all year round.
Oh… it was a bug then. Didn’t even know it was an event of some sort. Well it was a good run. Back to normal farming for event stuff then.

Well guess its good thing they cost 1c at least and not nothing.
Glad i farmed one of these bugged doors to get plenty of candy corn for my monthly achievement and more before it was “fixed” to the grind-state Anet apparently wants it to be..
I encountered about 6 doors last night and none of them were able to close. I wasn’t sure if it was a bug or not. Glad it was fixed though, there were some mean fields full of skeletons forming in Gendaran Fields.

So you’re glad you spent a bunch of time farming so you wouldn’t have to grind? Am I hearing that right?

I rolled the doors until I got my bars filled for the event title. Sold the corn. Boom, job done.
In the 15 minutes between the corn being sold and typing this, it’s already fallen 6c. The peak has passed, it’ll be cheap as hell soon enough.

I thought the actual Trick or Treating concept was really cool, and had a blast knocking on the doors that were working correctly …
People get too hung up on efficiency and forget about fun sometimes.

Oh I didn’t know you could actually trick or treat, where are the trick or treat(able) doors at?
